If she'd told her guard dogs to savage Rees-Mogg and Johnson when they lied and took the p1ss out of her to prorogue Parliament, then I'd allow the exemption.

It shouldn't be though, there's a long history of the royal family utilising their position to change laws to protect themselves legally, protect themselves 'culturally', protect their investments, protect their income, and protect themselves from scrutiny.

I mean they are the only body allowed to discriminate and not allow black employees, they have altered about 1,200 laws while she has been in power, they ensured that amendments to the Freedom of Information Act were added so that no royal could ever be held to account for interference in any government body. It is the way they operate. The fact they decided to get exclusion from freedom of information should have terrified and outraged people, most people didn't even listen.
 
Let's be honest they serve no useful function. To all practical purposes we do not have a "Head of State".

All we have from one viewpoint is a ridiculous "Truman Show" where a family is gauped at for our entertainment and from another where we fund this family at a time when working families are struggling to feed themselves and their children. How much did we spend on plastic bunting and flags (now landfill) just because Liz has clocked up another year of parasitism. Then we have the extent of land ownership that they enjoy. The cynical nods at green credentials yet requests to consider "re-wilding" at least some of the land they hold are simply ignored. And off they go a-shootin' and a-huntin'

The government should do what it does with all 'successful' 'assets' and privatise them. I have no problem if the rest of the country want to pay for their upkeep, that's their problem, I just don't think our government should waste valuable revenue on them.
