Playoff final - Watford or Sunderland

I would sooner not get to the play off final at all than get there and then actually lose in it no matter who the opposition was. That game V Norwich was such an emotional killer blow to me personally, more so than the 3 Chelsea cup finals and the Leicester draw and subsequent defeat. Even Eindhoven and the long journey back was less painful somehow.

Watford, obviously. In a few years time Wilder will have moved onto his 343rd club and nobody will even remember he was there but we'll always remember if sunderland beat us.

This for me too.

In the immediate aftermath, it'd obviously be a sickener to lose out on promotion to a manager we'd sacked earlier in the season, but it wouldn't be that big a deal in a few years time.

Would rather lose to Watford.

In fairness, Wilder didn't exactly slag the club off in the interview he gave. He did mention about not being 100% happy with the recruitment but he also said that he has no bad feeling towards Gibson.

It would still be a bit of a kick in teeth if Watford beat us in the final but I wouldn't expect him to do a Djed Spence and post a photograph of himself smoking a cigar on Twitter, with the tagline "Always remember, attitude ova albili'eh".

Agree 100 per cent. Never felt as disappointed after a match as I did the play off final.

What interview was that? I must’ve missed it.

I don't hate Wilder. I liked him at first but then I realised what he was about. He's a bit selfish, a bit dumb, nowhere near as good as he thinks he is and he obviously failed as a manager here but I don't particularly dislike him. I'd imagine in 10, 20+ years time he'll barely even register in my thoughts about former managers. Not in the conversation for best or worst, not the most hated, not the most liked, just meh.

In the unlikely event that Sunderland make the play-offs, then make the final and then play us in that final, I genuinely don't know what I would do with myself if we were to lose that.
Losing another play off final would be every bit as awful as Coluka described above. Losing it to Sunderland would be unbearable. I don't think I would ever properly get over it.

Agree .. longest coach journey home ever

Sunderland won't be in the playoffs
However I would not want to play them at Wembley. Too much hassle with their low class fans on the trains etc

There would be an electric atmosphere inside the stadium but you'd have to keep your wits about you before or after the game.

Newcastle are playing Chelsea away that same weekend as well. It would be a nightmare for the police trying to police the situation.

I remember arriving and going to Starbucks for a p*ss The queue was miles long and when you got to the front it was like one cubicle style bog that was blocked and near the top overflowing 😅 grim

Glad I wasn't busting for a dump

The question should be, could we play Watford or Sunderland in the playoffs.
Sunderland will finish mid table there on free fall, Don't think Watford will make the playoffs either.
If we lose out for 2nd place, then (3rd Boro) (4th Blackburn) (5th Norwich) (6th between Luton/Millwall/Coventry & WBA)
I also think we will win the playoffs if have to go that route.
