And Ayala but he would have been injured đź‘€

any others out there.
How can the competition have any integrity with this going on? Surely the players are in breach of their contract. I know they could feign injury but could the FA not say, contract rebels will have their registrations held at the original cub until the next window.

As I just said on Ayala thread, it couldn't have been avoided. Null the season = problems, finish the season as is = problems, compete the season = problems.

Some players obviously see an opportunity for themselves but some of them will end up feeling daft when they have to take a pay cut and/or sign for anyone who'll have them once the reality of the financial situation bites.

They are out of contract at the end of the month and are refusing to do the short-term renewal. Would you play them for the 2 games before the end of the month?

I think they should have been available and in the right condition to play at any point they are contracted to the club. Outside of their contract that is a different issue.

don’t forget before the transfer window you could be sold during a game. Cone in a full time, be pulled to one side and told you are in your way.
I can’t believe it’s being condoned, players refusing to play.

I think there is a bit of mis reporting going on here. I don't believe any footballer will have refused to play in June for their current team, they will just have said they are not going to play again once their contract has expired.

Football for the fans is about passion and loyalty, but for most players there will be some passion and loyalty but at the end of the day it is a job.

I don't get the issues with voiding the season. Its been proven the league cannot continue in the format it started the season and allow it to continue they have changed the rules. Surely that is wrong in itself.

And don’t forget you can have five subs. How is that right?
Look at all the players Hull lost in January. Now four refusing to play. Will they have enough senior players for five subs?

Easy to say when we are fighting relegation, but what if we were playing for something positive and felt it was our only chance?

Hull have confirmed that it's because they won't take the short-term contract renewal.

Surely staying up would be a positive.

You upset the champions in the PL and the 6 guaranteed promotion teams in the league - I'm not sure what the NL league is doing about promotion and haven't counted them in.

All fair in the name of football, greed, greed & greed again
We are having teams playing weakened teams, those players would have been available under normal conditions, adding to this the brand new 5 subs rule when teams will kill games in a souless stadium, yep riveting

Well I was led to believe (by the media, anyway) that this is the what the majority of clubs wanted. If true, its hard to make a case for this not being fair.

Totally agree with you, however, a few that did may well live to regret it, as indeed might Boro. I do wonder what part potential financial penalties from sponsors and TV companies etc played a part in it though.
