None of the "teams" have played together this summer - with new players arriving, youngsters like Sivvi and Jones coming into view, along with Hackney and Coburn - its looking like we have the basis of a solid squad.

With the experience of Paddy and Dael - [so glad we kept them] - we have a good defence and are yet to see how the midfield operates and gels together once the season starts.

Big "Uti" [as Neil calls him] is clearly a handful for any opposition - he has a presence and a deceptive turn of speed which is what we needed.
Such a large frame, at well over 6`, must be a scary sight for defenders.

OK - the opposition so far hasnt been Championship standard, but we can see the increase in sharpness and fitness in just over the last week.

I put a fiver on Boro to win promotion at 11/2 earlier on this week - once we start to gel and we get up a head of steam, we can beat anyone.
We wait in hope and [this season] in anticipation of a sustained challenge in the fight back to the Premiership.;)
[Thanks Neil - thats all we ask]!!!

WARNOCK'S HOME PARK WELCOME

It is 24 years since Neil Warnock was sacked by former Argyle chairman Dan McCauley, eight months after a play-off final win at Wembley.

Despite that length of time, Middlesbrough boss Warnock remains hugely popular with the Green Army.

When Warnock emerged from the dressing rooms before kick-off and walked along the Grandstand side of the pitch to the away bench there was a warm ovation for him from the Green Army

Many of those fans will not have been old enough to remember the 72-year-old's time at the helm of the good ship Pilgrim.

But they are obviously aware of what he did for the club, and the affection he continues to have for Argyle. It was good to see that respect for him displayed so clearly.
