Picking Fruit and Veg on Farms

The teens to mid 20’s are not the Facebook generation. In fact it is largely the older generations that use Facebook, hence the targeting by the brexit bots with their lies and propaganda and fake news.

We know now that people are more likely to believe something if it accords with what they want to be true. We know people share, post, retweet what they agree with.

Facebook users, a largely older demographic were SEVEN times more likely to spread fake news and lies about brexit and the EU. Think about that. The younger generations, supposedly not as wise as the older experienced generations, spotted b***ks far far better and/or were far less prejudiced.
Okay then pedant  Instagram / Twitter ....etc. The point remains that none of this demographic are used to or capable of graft like those people from east Europe.
How would they manage not being able to look at their phones every 2 minutes. Do they even know they can't post pictures of themselfs all glammed up with bunny ears and whiskers with the tag "feeling ugly" while picking asparagus.

Hmm, couple of summers work would get you a deposit for a First house saved up back in our day. Now it would take them about 20 years.

True but most wouldn't last 2 hours never mind 2 summers. IMO

Got to say, my son is 17 and his friends are all very decent and very hard working. I’ve seen them all take part in schemes, volunteer work and the NCS programme for no pay.

I think the younger generation get a bad press by prejudiced older lazy thinkers.

I asked my son if he would consider fruit picking and he said ‘Yes, but only once the 17.4 million who created the necessity in the first place and took away rights he was born with and closed down a lot more opportunities had done their stint first.

Are you moseying along to a farm to help, Konrad?

That really sums it up. It's our kids who are really going to suffer the consequences.

The triple lock on pensions will have to go. It’s a bit of a quandary for the Tories. They’d love to reduce the state pension but it’s their voters now.

We are all a bit weaker than our predecessors and yes as a generalisation younger people from Eastern Europe are thinner, but they are catching us up - once they have had fast food, ready meals, computer games and car lifts for 30 years. As said it is much harder to recruit because the pay gap had severely narrowed, Parts of Eastern Europe are significantly richer than Teesside.
