Phones at gig's/concerts/festivals

I was at a Paul Heaton gig a few years back and I’m not sure if it came from him or event organisers but I took a few pictures of him from the front row and security told me to stop recording… I was in no way recording loads of footage like some behind.. I told him I’ll stop taking pics when he gets the rest of the crowd behind me to do the same…
I’d rather watch the gig at the time than on footage later but I do like to have a few memory photos to look back on..
