Phil Foden

This lad has what it takes to become the best in the world. He's just incredible.

I can't believe some posters on here doubted him.

Could see a few years ago he would make it to the top. Thankfully he stayed at City under Pep.

If Southgate doesn't start him for England in every single game in the Euro's, then he is a bigger idiot than I originally thought.

First name on the teamsheet. Has to be.

Agree with every word.

Sorry but he is a joke. He will be the best English player of his generation and maybe the best one for many many years. Yes he is that good.

He will never play for Boro, so he can't be up to much. He can only dream of cleaning George Savilles boots in truth 😉

I just hope Southgate follows Guardiola and gets him high up the pitch for England. Foden has to be the first person on that team sheet.

He's started the last 2 England matches as part of a front 3, so I think there's a good chance that he'll be playing there in June.

I know that but still suspect Southgate could become cautious and play Sterling and Rashford either side of Kane. There is absolutely no basis for caution given Foden is performing at a high level in the Champions League.

It means Rashford misses out. I'd have Sterling with Foden and Kane.

Amazing talent and has the attitude to go to the very top. Pep has nurtured him perfectly and I hope he truly comes of age by lifting the European Cup a day after his 21st birthday, before going on to shine in Euro 2020 (in 2021!).

And lifting the Euros too would be nice (followed by a WC and Ballon D’or next year) aka completed football by 22.

He plays on the left so well for City but didn't look the same on the right for England. Southgate should leave him on the left and play a right sided player the other side of Kane.

I’m having a deja vu. 😬

Think it's key that we play him wide left, he's performed so well playing in that position for City. I rate Grealish but given the choice I'd rather see Foden starting.

This team would excite me.....

Pickford

Walker
Stones
Maguire
Shaw

Bellingham
Rice
Mount

Sancho
Kane
Foden

I like that side but haven’t seen enough of Bellingham really. Sancho ahead of Rashford/Sterling?

He’s so small, it looks like a strong gust of wind would blow him over, but he seems to just bounce off players when in full flow.

I think we're short of decent options in midfield. A few months back I would have had Henderson down as a guaranteed starter but it doesn't look as if he's going to be fit.

I haven't seen a great deal of Bellingham myself but many seem to rate him. Another option would be Ward-Prowse I guess.

As for Sancho ahead of Rashford and Sterling, you can only really play Rashford wide left or up front, and I prefer Sterling wide left.

Maddison too I guess. Mount/Rice look like certs.
