I was involved in some of the testing with prophylaxis medication for HIV which has been highly successful and I believe is due to be rolled out on prescription nationally. It is expensive though, and even accounting for the costs of treatment for the problem, the costs were very high.
Hopefully something with a much more simple virus may be cheaper to design/ test/ manufacture.
I thought GSK had something prophylactic that they were beginning to trial late 2020 but I havent seen anything since.
