We were though. It wasn’t made up, Wilder said we may have to wait a bit longer for a marquee signing. Granted we’ve signed some decent players. But none of them are marquee whatsoever. Muniz is a young unproven striker in this country. I like him. But he ain’t marquee. And as everyone has pointed out we are so thread bare in midfield. We are not geared up for promotion, there’s some damn good players and some damn good teams in this league. It will bite us in the ass, the lack of cover. That’s a guarantee, we’ve seen it so many times

And in terms of CW walking. I like him but if he does, so what. They’ll be plenty of good managers who’d fancy managing us. How many have come and gone, but as always we fans remain and always will. We are a good club. We don’t have money to constantly invest. It’s very frustrating when things are been said by the club via the media and not delivered. Whatever business it is, that’s how to pi** off your customers and in this case fans.

Feel free to show me the quote to prove me wrong but I am certain it didn't come from WIlder.. The quote in the Gazette is ..'There will be some big names that will come and people will go, ‘wow, that’s a really good signing’, and there’s going to be some other signings that you might call under the radar who we feel will make the group stronger. Liam [Roberts] is definitely one of those.'

Big name signings.. For me Giles and Steffen come under that category for a middling Championship club.. The Gazette appear to have added the word Marquee to the article but I can't see anything which shows Wilder saying he was promising marquee signings.
 
What better way to start our climb up the league than a victory against Sunderland under the lights, I don't know about dreading it,I can't wait

The Boro boss updated: “When we’re bringing players in there will be some big-name players in there that we hope and I believe we can attract to this football club. And that is the feeling that I am getting. After the season that we had last season, even if it ultimately ended in disappointment, players see us as a good place to come and play.

From the Gazette back in June. They used the word 'Marquee', Wilder used 'Big-Name'.

I think it’s fair to say if we can click we do have a hell of a side we just need to sort out the issues at the back.
