Payero gone

Can't win em all I guess. Does seem unfortunate given the amount of resources which must have gone into scouting him, recruitment etc.

Homesickness *may* have played a part as he's gone back to Argentina?

In terms of career what do people make of it? Boca certainly a bigger club than Boro but quality of football and their squad versus ours? I reckon he's actually made an upward move probably (not bad considering he hardly forced the move with his performances in England).

Were Boca looking at him last season when we signed him?

The fans don't know but the manager and coaching staff do.
So I suppose we aren't really in a position to overly criticise the decision.
Because we don't know how good or bad he was.
He has just signed for Boca, who with River Plate are easily the two biggest clubs in Argentina and arguably the two biggest clubs in South America.
He hasn't gone to a backwater.
He hasn't gone back to little Banfield.

I don't suppose Payero gives too much of a **** about what Chris Wilder thinks about his ability.

Playing for boca he will now be in the spotlight if serie a clubs and la liga as well.

Boca are a huge club and this is certainly a step up.

Just as Chris Wilder probably doesn't give a **** what Boca think of his ability either.

as per Johns piece we will lose 2mill , probs already paid 3mill and they will buy back (maybe) 1mill .... Clearly wasnt happy here and his last game for the U23 v Wolves was poor with little impact or effort ....

In what way are we cashing in? Reports are that there's no loan fee.
There was no confirmation whether it was a loan or transfer when that was posted.
Still, his wages are off the bill as is a squad space which can go to someone with more quality maybe.
I hope he smashes it and comes back twice the player or worth £10m+.

It's a bit disappointing unless he really is pretty rubbish. We'll just lose money on him and he may have been an impact sub
£3m isn't that much these days even for us
