Pauline Black & Two Tone

I had the pleasure of chatting with her when she was on at the Town Hall. I'm looking a bit rough in that picture, I wonder if there was drink involved. ;)

have seen Selecter so many times now. They never disappoint. Pauline always happy to meet and chat with the fans20231024_085429.jpg

Permission to broaden the thread into a general two tone/ ska/ uk roots thread?
Whilst keeping the emphasis on Ms. Black & the women

Did anyone get to see the 3 men and Black tour many years ago. Pauline, Jake Burns + 2 other Ska guests doing acoustic sessions. Really interesting insight given by the people on stage about their particular music genre and how they all came about. Watching Jake Burns singing along to 3 minute hero seemed very strange at the time.

last time i went to Newcastle to see Madness the numbskull Geordies were all fighting with each other. I avoid Newcastle for Gigs these days, might try and catch Madness in Leeds instead

For new music in the Ska/Reggae genre, give a listen to the wondrous "The Skints"

Not touring at the moment but I will be dragging all my mates to see these if they appear up here and I would expect them to be on the festival scene next summer. I saw them at a sunny Bearded Theory in 23 and they blew me away, led by the lovely and hyper talented Marcia Richards.

I'm listening to their Part and Parcel (Recorded Delivery) and it says it was released in 2012.
