Patterns of play!

I think one of our biggest problems has been Woodgate changing the players and in particular the formation too often! Which had resulted in the team not having any ‘frequent patterns of play’.

You can see the players constantly thinking and 2nd guessing each other? Does he want it? Where does he want it? Is he going to move or stay there? Which means we can’t move the ball quick enough. Often the players need an extra second on the ball whereas they should know where their team mates are going to be, where they want the ball and what they are going to do with it.

The top teams and players score similar goals every week, they know where their team mates will be and what they’re going to do etc.

We have some quality players but they look like a team of individuals who haven’t ever played with each other. That’s not their fault, it’s Woodgates!!!
