Paddy McNair

Whilst I think Fry is a better defender we did look more confident playing out from the back yesterday with Paddy in the team, plus he pops up in different areas of the pitch too, like when he attacked down the right wing in the first half. He's a good footballer, although whether Carrick was happy with him doing this only he knows.

I still think Fry will be back in next week though.

And so he should be. Fry has been excellent of late and whilst it was great Paddy filled in for him brilliantly yesterday we will need Fry at his best and sharpest for the challenges to come away at Sheff U and West Brom in the next month.

He had a decent game against very difficult opposition. The stick he was getting a few weeks ago after the Brighton game was ridiculously over the top.
Yes it was. Stick for his performance against one of the best sides in the country right now and thrown in with lack of full match sharpness.

I knocked him big time. Said he was *****.
He played well yesterday though and then gave me the finger as I waved the team off 😂

I'm far from his No1 fan but he was excellent yesterday.

Dael Fry will most likely come straight back in but not for me. Won't be Mr Popular for saying this but I think Fry is a decent Championship CH but no more than that. Does not take command in the air and always plays the pass square or behind the full back...solid but limited.

McNair is superior to Fry as a 'footballer' - He's the best footballing centre half at the club

If you haven't figured that out by now you don't understand football

Fry is still a better centre half and a better defender - Lenihan is also a better defender

Apart from the fact that McNair is not a centre half.
