Over 20 Get your jab here

Did your BiL pre book his second jab? I have one for July but I'm hoping they push it forward.

Other half has just booked her first! The NHS could pull this off, couldn't they?
He was pre booked for his second jab on 1st June and then he got a txt early last week inviting him for an earlier test, I think for yesterday. He actually declined it, happy to wait until June. Mrs got her second a couple of days ago at Darlo, mid afternoon she was the only one there, maybe it was the end of a batch?

The organisation by the NHS has been amazing, I guess They had a head start because the system was in place for flu jabs initially, but not taking anything away it’s been awesome.

Ive said before I cocked my booking up and are getting mine much later than many younger than me, second due 13th June, hoping to get it brought forward, but it is what it is, I don’t plan to travel before then so ....

My 2nd is on 14th June at the Riverside, not expecting for it to be brought, my local GP surgery is well behind the curve on this, got a week away next week but just in this country, not too worried , will just wait for the appointment.

Get my second halfway through the second half on Sunday - great planning 🙈 - got an offer of Saturday from the surgery, but I’m away.

(it’s coming home 👍)

Apparently anyone over 40 can move their second vaccine appointment forward. How does that work, when I go on the website it asks me to cancel the booking and rebook. I simply don't trust this. Can you not find an earlier booking and THEN cancel?

Phone the booking line?

The system will restrict you to only two entries per person, and so it should, people would be booking more to give them 'options', causing vaccine wastage.

Why not try it?

Hmmm,

Maybe the news report I heard was wrong. If you're over 40 you have to cancel and rebook. I'm not taking the risk of concealing and getting a date later than my current one.

That's a shame that, there's a huge gap between vaccinations and it looks like it's important to have the second dose with respect to protecting against the delta variant.

Are there walk in vaccination centres near you? I guess you turn up, get vaccinated, then you can cancel (if it hasn't already happened).

I had a call from an 'insider' for my second jab, they had lots of vaccine but not all allocated. I then received a call from my GP to offer me the second, as the arrangement was, which I declined.

Yeah there is one round the corner, the queues are always massive though. I keep checking to see if there is ever a quiet time

Hello SmallTown, I too was nervous about cancelling my second jab appointment in order to see if I could bring it forward.

I tried it last week to no avail, no earlier slots were available, so I simply immediately rebooked the time slot I had just cancelled moments earlier.

I tried again this morning and was successful in bringing it forward by 14 days. My centre in Devon had dozens of earlier days and slots available.

Best of luck to you and everyone else 👍

Maybe I should risk it then?

Finally got my second jab on Sunday, no side effects. About a week before got an email from NHS saying I could cancel and rebook earlier, I thought I’d try the phone line, but the lad said ‘you have to cancel first and I can’t guarantee an earlier slot’ stuff that I’ve waited long enough.

Then got a call for the local surgery saying I could have it the day before, I was away and what’s a day.

So finally I’m double insulated as are most of my familly now, even the younger ones have had at least one dose. We’ve just booked to b***r off to our other place next week for the first time in 6 months, light at the end of a very dark tunnel?……..

(it’s coming home)
