Yeah right. That's his and our fault
The longer the virus is in the wild and spreading, the greater the risk of mutation.Yeah right. That's his and our fault

So, yes. It is his and our fault (as a nation). More his fault, if you ask me - I'm pretty sure people would have managed a month or two of total lockdown a year ago if financial aid had been set up.
Are you sure - the population of this country are a disgrace on the whole. They’ve had a lot of financial aid they whinged for Christmas amongst other things, complained their civil liberties were being breached, insisted they wanted pubs open. They couldn’t manage what was asked of them. To suggest a specific variant is down to one person is just pathetic!!!The longer the virus is in the wild and spreading, the greater the risk of mutation.

I think that's the point. Mutations happen all the time. It's what they do.I'm not sure the variant can be directly attributable to any one individual, it's my understanding that viruses will naturally mutate in this manner, as long as they're active in a population?
That said, the decisions taken which led to the prevalence of this virus (at all) at this stage in this country can be questioned.
I personally find the renewed focus on variants worrying given that in order to completely remove the risk of mutation we would surely need to eradicate the disease, something which, in my opinion, is neither likely or feasible, either globally or in this country?
I think you'll find that was the Tory Press that did all that. Are you sure - the population of this country are a disgrace on the whole. “The Tory press did all that” the mind boggles!!I think you'll find that was the Tory Press that did all that.
How do you think this thing is still spreading a year down the line - people, that’s the answer. They won’t do as they are asked. Ok “on the whole” is a bit strong but it certainly isn’t a minority as some would have you believe. The population of this country are a disgrace on the whole !!!
One of the most ridiculous comments I've read on this board.
A little distasteful title
Obviously the way not the weather! That would also be a miracle by the way.I actually think that the weather the scientific community in the UK has developed and advanced treatments against Covid has been nothing short of miraculous. The British people on the other hand in general have been mixed in the way that they have dealt with and handled the crisis, ranging from people who have followed all the rules to millions who have blatantly not. This is why partially we are in the mess that we are in still. Hopefully however the vaccine rollout will see the deaths and bed occupancy drop significantly. I guess for a lot of people who are working or furloughed at the moment, the thought of not being able to go back to normality or indeed there I said I have no chance of a significant holiday this year is just going to be a nightmare. It just feels at the moment that everybody is at the end of their wits and are really struggling.
How do you determine that it is more prevalent here than most places? Most places aren't even looking for variations. They're testing simply for SARS-CoV-2.I think that's the point. Mutations happen all the time. It's what they do.
The problem is Johnsons mismanagement of the crisis has led to the virus being more prevalent here than most places. Therefore the mutation is more likely to occur here than elsewhere.
When you say whole, do you have a specific percentage in mind ?How do you think this thing is still spreading a year down the line - people, that’s the answer. They won’t do as they are asked. Ok “on the whole” is a bit strong but it certainly isn’t a minority as some would have you believe.
From a straw poll of my street and surrounding areas I would say fifty per cent at least. When you say whole, do you have a specific percentage in mind ?
The virus itself, all variantsHow do you determine that it is more prevalent here than most places? Most places aren't even looking for variations. They're testing simply for SARS-CoV-2.
