OUR NEXT FIVE GAMES

Buff. Couldnt agree. Didnt say data. Said traditionally. we normally hit some poor form late November through to January just as this years trend suggests. If what happened before means nothing why look at data from previous seasons and use it as a KPI? Youre just being contrary for the sake of it
I didn't mean in that way I was trying to give you a bit of hope.

2 points per game is the requirement, therefore 10 points would be ideal and promotion form.
Isn't it great just even thinking this way after last season, what a transformation.

It's a good yardstick for the rest of the season, our expectations have naturally been raised although i'm sure a defeat or two will have the bed wetters running for the hills. it's not an exact science but where we are at halfway shows us how much better we need to be for the rest of the season.

Luton - (11th) toughest game on paper
Birmingham - (16th) a big decider play again 16th January
Rotherham - (20th) 3 games in one week, over xmas against teams fighting for survival
Sheffield - (24th) 3 games in one week, over xmas against teams fighting for survival
Wycombe - (23rd) 3 games in one week, over xmas against teams fighting for survival

34 points - two wins and a draw 7th+
35 points - two wins and 2 draws 7th place
36 points - two wins and 3 draws 6th place
36 points - three wins 6th place
37 points - three wins 1 draw 5th place
38 points - three wins 2 draws 5th place
39 points - four wins 4th place
40 points - four wins and 1 draw 3rd place
42 points - five wins - on for automatic promotion 2nd place finish
Luton Birmingham Sheffield Wednesday and Wycombe will be hard games for you. Rotherham is unpredictable every week.

Wycombe won't be pushovers mate. Watch out for their beast mode when it comes to hoof ball.

Austin ? Same guy who is apparently off to MLS? January transfer window opens on 2nd January so unlikely anything can happen on 1st January. 👍
The Transfer window is open on the 2nd.. I was talking about the club doors x I think he's on £52k a week atm so sounds unlikely in any case.

Each and every game is hard in the champo.. nothing matters on paper when a club is struggling for survival. The clubs at the bottom lack consistency.. that's not to say they can't run another team over the coals when they click. Tough, tough games. I imagine them to be very physical which 3 days rest wont necessarily fix.

I've always said that if we get to January and are in realistic touching distance of the play offs, then I'd be absolutely delighted with the first half of the season. Hopefully we do just that, and Gibbo tgeb finds a few quid down the back of the settee when he's cleaning up over Christmas and lets Warnock have it (y)

Haha. Hope with Boro at this time of year? Dude, we’re doing alright but cant you just feel that annual lull coming? Unless we've already had it and we go on a stonking run. Im not being pessimistic its a tradition as much as Christmas that Boro get bear on boxing day and new year games

Austin is forcing his way into contention at West Brom anyway - played at weekend.

“The striker almost joined Derby in the summer, but Bilic has welcomed his return.
He added: "In the last few weeks you noticed he is on fire in training and something opened with Hal reinjuring his wrist.

"Charlie deserves his chance and he put an effort in which lifted the whole team. He didn't score but he was very active."

Mega three points yesterday! Those are the sort of matches that we would have normally thrown away. Fans scratching their heads ruing the referees poo decisions and complaining about how the opposition stifled the game for the last 10 minutes. It was like bloody groundhog day!!!

Glad we finally have someone who knows the score and is able to coach some common sense into our players, get them switched on, get them competitive. Nothing worse than watching the get along gang handing results over to the opposition time after time.

We're looking solid and we're looking like a side that is being built rather than just thrown together.

Well that's 3 points in the bag, 12 more to go....who knows..
Next up Birmingham.. that one's gonna be totes emosh

Karanka fired up to prove his old employers wrong, Friend, Clayton, Jutkiewicz & McEachran all bringing a little extra spice to the game. Plus we have them again 16th January so it's a bit of a psychological one here.. potential six pointer against the old boys.

Many fans still hold a flame for Karanka.. what could have been.. why couldn't we have kept him.. maybe he'll come back one day..

I for one hope Cool Hand Neil gives him a large dose of 'what it's all about really' - there's many big tests in a season for one reason or another.. but this one is for the fans approval.. the top spot,, who is top gun

Hopefully after wiping the floor with Birmingham for 90mins and sending the Karanka brothers off in a huff Warnock tears off his shirt and starts beating his chest stares down the cameras to all the fans watching o the livestream and screams "is that enough for ya, will that do ya.. was that enough...arrrrgggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh'

Hopefully

Prediction?

Our away form needs to improve dramatically otherwise we won't sustain our play off push simples.......
You would have thought without a crowd the home/away matches wouldn't be so important?
Need to get back to last seasons final away games under Warnock and fast, starting Saturday at Brum

Prediction?
I'm predicting 0-0 it feels like we're improving at the moment and that we've got a little bit more in the team than Birmingham. Karanka will take a cautious approach and will not want to have his pants pulled down at home against his old employers. It's just a guess, but I think it will be a masterclass in slowed tempo, game management. a subtle game of chess rather than who dares wins.

Pretty boring, pragmatic and unambitious from me I know..

Or move Paddy into midfield, move Dijksteel along side Fry and put Spence at right back?
Too risky do we think?
