Not into NS myself, like a good few records but not continuous, like seeing the passion & the clothes full of badges, plus those bags with cloth badges sewn on, great viewing

I know my good mate erimus11 is a massive NS fan, my younger brother was also, I love to see the togetherness they have in clubs during giggs

Remember the YMCA club on Southfield Rd and I think it was Skidmore who was the DJ . Used to go to Beechwood , Church of Ascension and St Aidens as well on and nights . Great memories getting badges on Borough Rd near Jack Hatfield’s on a Saturday morning .

I knew a few people from Whitby went to Wigan Casino around 1977/8 on a special hired coach- I was bit young to go and was really more into new wave/punk at the time as N/Soul was US based music which at the time I labelled B side Motown. There was just so much music around then. Flicking through through boxes of vinyl singles brings back memories.

Skidmire & Wally Black, I think is his name, he's still doing NS nights, my younger brother was his runner in the mid 70's then went on to doing DJ nights himself

Rob Skidmore ( Skid) legend from the Casino days, Wally Black is still the best Northern Soul DJ in the North East in my opinion and your brother was a legend too :cool:
