Our fans do my head in!

Of course, every other football club has the same gripes as us, beat the best teams, get beat by shiiiiite teams, manager playing players out of position, wrong formation etc etc
Thats Football!!

some are not 'our' fans.

some have a fetish with this board and love to have multiple user names and troll it.

others are gaslighting and they walk amongst us - then go off to get slaps on the back from the 2 groups with a fetish who are not 'boro' fans.

they have little interest in football - they wouldnt know a footballer from a camelus bactrianus - they most likely believe that to be our next signing - they thrive on a sickly response & an argument - best to ignore them. lol !

I'm so tired of our 'fans' kicking up a fuss about the lack of signings then after its revealed who we're signing it's doom and gloom 'Who's that' 'Cant see him being good enough for us 'From Gyorkeres to this' oh shut up!

For years we've sat in complete awe at 2 models when it came to recruitment. Brentford and Norwich who have time and again picked up gems for little or no transfer fee and then have gone on to absolutely smash it and make themselves massive profits and result in promotion.

Pukki, Buendia, Maupay, Toney, Hogan amongst the many success stories at least at their club that have either cost little and gave huge profits or just been great players for them.

Enter Kieran Scott, Norwich supremo responsible for a fair few of those in his time coming into make Boro have a model other side's can be in of awe of.
Transfers are going slow - He doesn't know what he's doing?! Why's he taking so long?!

Marcus Forss £1.5- £3 million - A man who has actually contributed double figures in a promoted side and who their fan base rate completely and were actually sad he's been sold for such a measly fee. A finisher on a low price who's played 25 minutes since arriving
Boro fans verdict - 'Why isn't he going for Gyorkeres, such a snip at 18 million, not good enough for Brentford in the Premier League he's clearly crap!'

Matthew Hoppe - £2.5-£3 million - Only last season considered a promising talent in the Bundesliga, made a leap of faith to Spain that hasn't paid off but the lad got a goal every 222 in the Bundesliga as a teenager.
Boro fans Verdict - 'Not exactly getting the pulses racing is he, Where's Gyorkeres for £18 million'

It's a marathon not a sprint, these are players who want to come play for Middlesbrough, that can't be said for a lot of players who turn us down, they are taking a leap of faith and joining us and deserve us to back them from the second they walk through the door.

Wilder wants 5 strikers
???? ???? Forss Hoppe Akpom/Watmore
There is likely another 2 walking through the doors of Rockliffe.
One of those is probably gonna be the big Norwegian. He clearly wants to come here and don't he surprised to see him through the door before August Ends.
People are absolutely raving about him because he's gonna cost us £9 million +? I mean I think he's a good player and I really want him here but is he really more exciting than Forss? 10 goals in this league previously? Mainly from the bench?

I for one am very excited by these players, if they turn out to be a jewel in the crown then we could see promotion incoming or absolutely massive transfer fees incoming
Great post finally someone speaking sense

The advantage of signing relatively unknown young players is that they are cheap to buy and cheap to pay - they are developing and you can buy say 4 of them and if just 1 makes it big you have won.

These lads are cheaper than many U23s from some Premier clubs.
Yes, but as you say it could be that one in four makes it. Three won't make it. So if the model is "throw mud at the wall and see how much sticks" then get on and sign some players.

The club seems to be stuck between waiting for some big name player who has a good record and signing young players with potential and doing neither.

I am more than happy with the new approach, after spending astonishing amounts of money on absolute wasters of strikers, the list is almost endless.

Someone has a different view on things to you = idiot.

I don’t think anyone is an idiot for having a polar opposite view of things, we’re all different people.

If you’re angered by another opinion or trying to force yours on others - I’d say that’s pretty idiotic in itself.

I tend to agree. From Alves to Britt via McDonald and Rhodes, we've gone down the approach of signing the expensive option with the big numbers.

It's never really worked; some may argue Rhodes did just enough, and I'd not dispute that. But he didn't come close to replicating his previous form.

Isn't the definition of madness doing the same thing and expecting a different result?

As has been said before, Bamford was our best striker if recent times. When we signed him, the complaint was that he hadn't scored for 2 years. Signing players is about chemistry, not maths.

OK, that's a bit OTT. I'm sure they are fans, they just aren't your type of people, it just happens that the only thing you have in common with them is the boro. I see some very OTT reactions from people (were going down etc), but in all honesty chatting about football and disagreeing over transfers is what this type of board is meant for. The gaslighting on here happens on the political threads which are really nasty in all honesty, we seem to get people deliberately dangling emotive right wing carrots knowing that people on here will bite, and I don't like that at all, but chatting about football transfers and disagreeing on the transfer policy is not deserving of " the above " imo

Unreal isnt it some of the stuff he spouts on here then he calls people idiots for having a differing view. :sneaky:
