Only fools and horses

Jolly Boys Outing for me. It’s just the perfect episode with all the characters in it. But I love them all except Royal Flush where Del is uncharacteristically nasty, and the last three episodes whenever Damien speaks.

For some reason I don’t like this show much, never have. I’ve seen it loads of times but i don’t find it that funny, there’s some good moments that I did enjoy but I certainly can’t watch repeats of it all the time like a lot of people do.

Didn’t Sullivan (John) also write Citizen Smith? Loved that…Power to the People!
At the time I thought Citizen Smith was brilliant when I watched it as a student. Caught an episode last year on one of the nostalgia channels and I sadly didn't laugh once. It hasn't aged well.

I think the episode is called “Dates”. One of the classics. Derek Duval. Triggers date.
Hiring Raquel to be Uncle Albert’s stripper, under the disguise of arresting him. Del stripping a real copper.

Best line is Raquel, right after being found out to be a stripper, shouting at Del, sulking in his van - “I suppose this is your Ferrari”

Del - “OK, so I lied. At least I don’t go around pubs, flashing my boobs for blokes, do I Rodney?!”

Rodney - [confused look on his face] “no, he’s never done anything like that”.

It’s Rodney’s face that makes it.

Rodney is a slightly underrated character. Other characters might tend to get better lines, but they wouldn't land half as well without Rodney to play off. His facial expressions are brilliant.

When he goes on that date with nervous nel in the van :D

Actually if I was going to pick one it would be Tony Angelino and Raquel duetting on Cwying. Purely because of the way fhe facial expressions of the main characters watching what’s going on on stage pan out. Brilliantly directed.

I’m unsure on the name of the episode but I think it’s Christmas and Del and Rodney head to a club. Start chatting up some girls and Del says Rodney is a tennis player.

Girl A: “so which do you prefer? Grass or AstroTurf”

Rodney “I don’t know. I’ve never smoked AstroTurf”

🤣

It's OK...buy I have a hubby who watched nothing but every weekend morning on UK Gold so it's beginning to grate on me now
