One of me best mates on a ventilator

Sorry to hear Zoo.

One of my team at work lost his father in law to it last week, whilst another member is in self isolation with symptoms. Totally unconnected which is even more scary, as the former hadn’t see his family member for 4 weeks before he was diagnosed.

Stay safe everyone.

Thank you for all the messages. I really do appreciate your thoughts. We are all a bit knocked out at the moment not least the suddennes and because my cousins daughter couldnt be there at the time. A week ago she was fit and in good form and seemingly keeping safe. However as her daughter lived in Derbyshire she had nobody to fetch or look out for her. She went to the supermarket we know one day last week and before that a couple of times but nothing else. She was retired from work. No underlying medical conditions. Apparently she phoned her daughter in a distressed state on Monday afternoon and they dashed up to see her slumped in the kitchen trying to breathe short quick breaths. Very distressed obv. She hated hospitals and didn’t want to go in when the paras arrived. it Brings it so much closer that this is a killer disease and we should continue to take utmost safety precautions. As I said last night please stay safe everybody. She lived in Pars Wood and was taken to Stepping Hill Hospital.

Sorry to hear such awful news

Sorry to hear the news.
The best friend of a friend is about to go on a ventilator. Struggling with his lungs. 40ish and looks fit. People still think this is a hoax. Im seeing it every day from my Hospital ward in Egypt. Convoys of of up to 9 ambulances rocking up. I got lucky.

They aren’t releasing any of my 6 swab results to me. It’s been 17 days in hospital, 8 days before that the cough started, then the incubation period on top. Seems like an awfully long time to hold me. I’ve felt fit and well for about 10 days now. Hoping tomorrow is the day, last swab was 2 nights ago.

thoughts will all those families who have lost a family member or friend or indeed know people who are unwell, i have nothing to add that hasn't already been said but my own best wishes

we sadly lost a friend yesterday, or heard it about it yesterday to be accurate, i think he passed away on Monday. he was more a friend of my wife, i had only met him a dozen or so times, but we always hung out a bit in the bar whenever we go 'home' to Manhattan. 52 years old and in reasonably good health until this

we know a few (5 i think) people who have tested positive but all have pulled through so far so let's focus on the positives (i'm not dismissing anyone's grief for a second btw). they were all medics of one sort or another so right in the firing line so to speak. in fact our best friend is actually working on a COVID ward - she volunteered to do so knowing that she was far more likely to get the correct PPE by working there than if working on any other ward

I mentioned by cousin above who was taken into hospital yesterday and was tested positive for Covid19. She has in the last few hours passed away. It is devastating. She was well a week ago when I spoke with her. It has hit me very hard. Finny I hope tour mate finds the strength to pull through. Stay safe and at home.
Condolences to you and your family RIP
