One Boro ITK claims Neil is off

Including Agnew, 8 out of our last 9 managers have ultimately been failures. Even our 1 success, Karanka, ended very badly with a lot of acrimony along the way.

Is that solely on the 8 managers, or is something else not quite right at the club?
Same could be said of a growing list of clubs who haven't achieved promotion in the past 10 years. Derby, Forest, Wednesday, Stoke, Birmingham, Sunderland, to name some of them. Maybe its more fundamental with the way the football demograph is shifting.

It’s not exclusive to Boro though. Manchester United have had four since Ferguson, all of them would be considered to have failed. And that’s despite winning trophies. Chelsea go through them, Watford do and have gone up two or three times and reached cup finals. You get managers like Ferguson once in a generation. Every manager will get sacked or resign at some point, and when that happens a lot of them are labelled as failures. It’s a bit mad really.

I think that record isn't that different to most of our peer clubs is it, especially if you measure success in such a binary way?

Agreed, especially if you consider promotion as the only definition of success, then there's only 3 managers a season who are successful. Pulis got us into the play offs (ignore the surrender in those games though) surely that was success that season ?

Has Warnock gone yet, or is this yet another made up nonsense ITK story?
someone must have said it on twitter.. in oneboro land that means it's pretty much gospel. saying a manager is going to be off is a pretty safe bet these days as it's bound to happen eventually for one reason or another. saying it just to spread bad feeling and to try and force the issue is a pretty sad move.

pat on the back for the cat vvankers who don't even watch the games.

Agree - ultimately only 3 teams can go up each season, did I expect that to be us this season? 100% not and my view hasn't changed.

I think the rebuild required at the club has been underestimated by some. We've probably only done 15%-20% of the work so far. New manager in the summer then realistically we'll be looking at 3-5 years for promotion (in my opinion).

Given there's very little chance of us going up, the only time I'd expect Gibson to act is if there's a real chance of us going down (Warnock's appointment being evidence of that in itself) - we're not there (yet).

We may see an appointment in January but unless Gibson changes his views on "poaching" managers I think it's unlikely. That said, I can't believe Scott would have agreed to join if he was to be working under those self-imposed, anachronistic restraints.

Agree 100%. There is little chance in us making the playoffs. I think mid table is the stretch of this years ambition as we stand. And yes as this is an interim season Gibson will be happy for him to stay and mind the ship while in the background they plan for the future starting next season - the risk of course is that the stop gap plan this season doesn’t work and we start to get sucked in. Then he will have to act.
