One Boro ITK claims Neil is off

Neil Warnock wants promotion this year. That is why he is here. He still might get it, if he is given the chance. (y)

He's on par for 50 POINTS this season - that is in no way promotion (even mid table) form. Yet some people think he's going to magically transform us, despite having a year to show signs of progress, and seemingly spending most of his time making excuses and throwing everyone else under the bus.

We'll be 39 games in, 4th bottom, and still some supporters will still be claiming we can get promotion this season based on Warnock's performances 10 years ago !

Sorry but a lot of the comments saying he has no passion don't make sense , they are more posters illusions of what might be reality or posts just to wind up other posters.

People who lack passion for something don't care and show a lack of interest. They don't wake up at 5am in the morning working out team formations.

Shouting at referees != passion in my book.

How do you know he wakes up at 5am ? Because he said so perhaps? The only passion he has is for himself, and his profile, and so stories like that are bread and butter and lapped up by people.

It's clear the new direction is probably a longer term strategy but I think people need to temper their expectations somewhat. How long did it take Brentford to get promoted with their new model? 5-6 years?

I'm confident Scott has a plan, and given his track record it's likely to work but it would surprise me if we target promotion in the next three years. We probably need three summer windows just to sort the squad out.

Why would it surprise you?
We've targeted promotion this year, we're just failing badly at it.

At his age and with his pensions etc he could have easily have not bothered and put his feet up in his Cornish retirement home, but he is bothered. He was a fan and is a fan of Sheff United, but he showed delight when we beat them.
I don't doubt he is committed, conscientious and hard-working. He wants to do well. He loves the game.
I just don't think he shows any passion for the club.

Maybe it's his generally dour demeanour or a deliberate strategy he employed to play down the fact he is a fan, but I always found him strangely dispassionate about the club. Still do to be honest.
And it's just my opinion btw, it's OK to disagree.
Fair enough 👍he is dour I agree...I just always felt he is was raw boro...maybe I view him through sentimental eyes...I hate what happened to him when he was here...such a ignominious way to finish his time with the club....

Mogga is definitely Boro to the core. He was at the last game at Ayresome and (I believe) a couple of our cup finals.

I never wanted him as manager for that reason, it was always going to end badly but he gave us the core of players that would revive us under Aitor.

He will always be a legend, don't expect him to grin like an idiot or dance like a fool but never doubt where his heart is.

I don't doubt it. Nor do I expect passion to be expressed as a grinning idiot or dancing fool.

Yeah i agree, also think him & Howson should've swapped roles!
Our best results always came when Howson, Sav & Morsy were in the same side, the added bite helped us massively....
What we're missing now, badly....
I agree, players who don't stand around, put a shift in and cover the pitch.

Neil: don’t fret yoursen Steve it’s just a few moaners on fly me want me out
Steve: ok, Kieran ring ICI and tell them to forget the smoke
