What do you do on Saturday?

Same back 7

But doak and Hamilton have to start and try Conway at 9

Sack azaz and Izzy and latte and get Riley mcgree fit

Dieng
Ayling
RVDB if fit otherwise The Fridge
Clarke
Borges
Hackney
Morris
McGree
Azaz but when fit, Gilbert
Doak
ELL

Dieng

Dijksteel Ayling Edmundson Clarke Borges

Hackney Morris

Doak Conway McGree

Go back to the sweatshirt for a start... MAKE A GREEN ONE FFS

1. Dijksteel & Jones on the right hand side
2. Barlaser & Morris in the middle
3. LATTE LATH as a 10 ala Akpom
4. LUKAS ENGEL ON THE WIING. (this shouldnt be as controversial as folks will make it)
5. Burgzorg up top.. fast unpredictable and tricky.. nightmare for defenders.

------------------Dieng-----------------
Dijksteel--Edmunson--Clarke--Borges
------------Barlaser--Morris-----------
-------Jones--Latte Lath--Engel-------
----------------Burgzorg---------------

Subs? I could see Ayling and Doak being brought on the right for a more direct style.
McGree and Conway for Engel and Burgzorg maybe sharpen things up a bit.

Hackney & Morris are too alike both attacking players so if you play them together they leave the barn door open at the back that is why we are where we are in the league.

I think we have some uncomfortable truths to face.

1. Morris is REALLY good.
2. Latte Lath and Conway are too similar.. both 10s
3. Barlaser is that bad
4. Engel isnt that bad
5. Our left back is being left exposed.

But our problem is not scoring enough goals, it's not that conceding too many. We've only conceded 5 in 6 games.

We aren't where we are because we "leave the barn door open".

We are where we are because we've scored one goal from open play in 6 matches and our front 4 have scored 1 non-penalty goal between them in a combined 24 appearances.

If McGree isn't fit, stick with Azaz but I'm not a fan of him playing in that position at all. We just have a lack of options in that position. We kept signing RWs instead. Got what we've got now until January

LL is not a 10. He’s a 9 that wants it in-behind or over the top but we never ever play those balls.

I'd be interested in seeing Doak and Jones on the LW/RW positions, possibly swapping throughout. Ask them to stay wide and have a go.

Would maybe give the fullbacks a bit more cover too if they aren't drifting in all the time
If Engel is injured..

then I guess it could work.

We don't have a number 10 so whatever players we pick it won't work as effectively as it could. Someone will be shoehorned into to play that role. I would put Jones on the left to give some cover to the left side and give Doak a go out wide right. One of Lath or Conway but not both. Azaz or McGree at 10 (although I don't think either are particularly effective there).

If not it needs an overhaul of formation and we'd have to go 5 at the back (we don't have a LWB or enough fit CBs) but we could play Jones RWB, Borges LWB, Ayling, Edmundson and Clarke as CBs. 3 in midfield of Morris, Hackney and McGree and then you can play Conway and Lath alongside each other. Howson, Morris and Hackney as a 3 if McGree is not fit could also work. Maybe even Hamilton in there.

Can't see us signing Burgzorg, Doak and Hamilton and then stop playing with wide players though so it's unlikely we'd change formation.

So.. if we never ever play those balls.. then he’s wasted as a 9

Plays real deep.. stick someone who runs at players and is unpredictable then. ‘a buzzer’
