Where the lead opposition party does not in fact oppose - or provide an alternative, you are living in a de facto one-party totalitarianism.Bit confused by this thread, though i didnt see the speech i have seen just Jonathan Ashworth saying Labour support the measures brought in today.
Surely both political parties agreeing on the measures as a country is what we want to see? As opposed to the usual you do it like that, we’d have done this approach of party politics.
I’m not too fussed on someones public speaking. I dont think it says too much in general but if both parties are happy with the measures, whats the issue with whats been announced?
Labour has fundamentally failed during the crisis to properly scrutinise policies brought in. In fact it took a Tory chairman Graham Brady to say hold on, shouldn't these policies be debated in front of the house? Laughable.
