*"Official" Forest v Boro Matchday Thread: reviews/archive/pics/videos/european cup/old big head.....

Great goal but horrific set pieces and sadly Forest have more than matched us so far.

We need to improve in the second half or it's going to be a nervy 45 minutes.

Good first half. Bit harum scarum. We look a little weak in the middle. Hernandez good and bad. Siliki always showing for the ball looks good, though he got howson booked, and I don't like a 33 (?) year old in the middle on a yellow.

Sporar though. He was the one I was worried about. Similar goalscoring record to Britt. Can't play up front on his own. Needs through balls?

Nothing of the sort. Class movement. Knows what he wants to do on the ball. What a shot. This is what 15 million Britt was supposed to be like.

I'd fully expected Tav to be canned on corners after sat. I guess we've got nobody better..... Strange🤔

They are absolutely awful. Simply nothing less than 3 points is good enough.

Positives... Great finish and Lumley looking solid (despite some bizzare claims last week on here that he's no better than Bettinelli)

I can't recall him making a pass .. 5 or 6 "easy" passes gone to the oppo
I'm not exactly handing out the medals but he has been alright. Just taking too long when in possession, he needs to get up to speed and fast. A better team than Forest will take him apart. I'd imagine hed be on bench if Payero had stayed fit, given Warnock was going to start him on Saturday.

Impressed with Sporar. Obviously the finish was excellent but he's also switched the ball well a few times. Seems to be the sort of player who for some reason has more time on the ball than others and can get their head up to have a look around.

Otherwise I think Tav and Fry have both had good halves. Everyone else pretty poor to be honest. Won't matter if we're still winning at FT though.

Great finish and wonderful assist as well - I love the way Tav left that man for dead before slotting the ball through.

However, I still don't think we're playing to our potential and apart from the goal it was the usual sloppy fare. Hernandez is exciting but doesn't seem to have much of a brain - he shoots from ambitious positions when defenders are in the way and other Boro players are better placed, and at the end of the half we ended up going all the way back to Lumley from the edge of their box, because Hernandez failed to pass the ball and overran into nowhere. Crooks doesn't seem to be his usual self and Siliki is definitely off the pace. We really need to turn this lead into three points to get some confidence going.

Forest created more chances in that half than we did.
Buts that's ok.
But we have Andrez Sporar so we don't need as many chances to score as they do.

And again at the start of the second half - shot from a silly angle when Sporar was waiting in the middle.
