Can I recommend The Strip House as a better steak house than S & W.MSG Tour or better still a live event
Smith & Wallensky Steakhouse
Cradle the bulls bollox.
This is for the pass there are various options for number of days etcAny idea of websites to purchase one of these tickets?
Whats the crack with Broadway shows? Wife wants to go to one but there doesn't seem much on at the moment. Again, wheres the best place to purchase tickets for shows?
Second greatest after LondonFollow as many independent/art house/indie NYC pages on Instagram as you can. Spent a couple of months in NYC a couple of years ago and all of the cutting edge stuff happens on a whim/short notice. I managed to get an invite to a talk by Darryl McDaniels simply by my missus being active with the custom art house instagram page. I also saw an exclusive pop up exhibition of the history of The Beastie Boys and a one day only showing of art by Shepard Fairey by accepting free invites on instagram (or my missus did). NYC is by far the greatest city in the world.
Brooklyn is the place to be at the moment. https://www.paninishoppe.com/ Anthony and Son Panini Shoppe. The best food I have ever tasted and I have done plenty of travelling. Little corner shop selling the best sandwiches on planet Earth.
Went last month for the first time and loved it.Off to New York this summer (second time) for my wife's delayed 40th.
Any recommendations of things to do, places to eat/drink? We've got a few things planned but always keen to hear anything that might have gone under the radar.
Yankees v Red Sox and the New York Derby (soccer) both on while we're there so any tips related to those appreciated.
We're splitting up a couple of weekends in the city with some time upstate - 2 nights in Woodstock and 2 in Beacon as well.
Oh, and los tacos no. 1 in Chelsea market was outstanding.Went last month for the first time and loved it.
if you’re looking for a nice bar with good views and decent nibbles then I would recommend the Skylark in midtown. it’s a bit pricey but not ridiculous.
Fraunces Tavern in the financial district is very good.
We went to the comedy cellar at macdougal street which was excellent and I would highly recommend.
Katz deli also worth checking out.
you can probably tell I came back about 2 stone heavier
Rather than Fraunces Tavern, good as it is, try The Dead Rabbit on Water Street around the corner. For tickets, check Goldstar. Apart from Broadway, off-Broadway, you can get tickets for smaller clubs.Went last month for the first time and loved it.
