Nuno ruining Wolves

It wouldn't suprise me if he didn't have 100% say as to who's coming in. I imagine wolves is just a production line or stepping stone for Portuguese talent.

I imagine agents are throwing players at wolves. Some of the fees paid for youngsters seem pretty high.

That said you'd have to say that so far the transfer system has worked. The likes of Jota / Traore / Jimenez / Neves were picked up at very decent prices compered to value now. I wouldnt rule out these lads struggling this season kicking on and doing well.

Not some agents...one as they are basically being run by mendes Oh an nuno is also a mendes client.

Can't agree with 'Nuno ruining Wolves'

Look where they were when he took over and look where they are now.

It's probably one of his toughest times as Wolves manager at the moment, especially losing Doherty & Jota who were 2 of his most valuable assets last season.

But they won't come close to relegation and they will always be difficult to beat.

Personally, I think he's done a cracking job there.

Cracking team last season.
Paid 30 mill for a very poor wing back Samedo. Sold Docherty for a third of that who was far better. 2 wide men starting now would struggle to get in our team. How Traore doesn’t start is baffling. Wolves fans must be pulling their hair out.
Do you really think he's choosing the signings? Mendes does everything there transfer-wise.

I think you have to measure his achievements against the money at his disposal. He has lost some big games v Watford in the cup semi final and v Seville in the Europa Semi Final with arguably the players in place to win through. I’m not convinced personally.

Agree he did a cracking job getting them to where they where up-to end of last season but seems to have got it badly wrong since then .
Don’t look anything like the team of the last couple of years.

He could have Brazil 1970 at his disposal and Sevilla would probably beat them in Europa League.

Sevilla in Europa league is like Rafa at Roland Garros.

No f**ker can beat them in their tournament!

And yes, Brazil 1970 team will all be 70/80 years old now...funny...

It resurrects that honeymoon notion for promoted teams having a cracking first season and then diminishing ( Blades as well ) .
Mind Sheff Utd imploded after lockdown . Is it the getting sussed factor or losing key players ?

Ps hope this occurs at Leeds 🤭

I appreciate that the manager has taken Wolves to new heights, but it is possible to confuse the situation by signing players you do not really need. None of the new lads measure up to Traore in my opinion.
The manager seemed to be getting just about the best from Adama T when playing him from the start as virtually a right winger, but in the 4 games since then he hasn't been used for more than 25 minutes or so, and I read that it was about then that he was signing a new contract to double his salary to £100,000 per week.

Wolves should really have beaten that poor Geordies side with any formation.

I don't much like praising Geordies, but they seem to hang in there; pummelled at Spurs too, but somehow came out with a point.

As for Wolves, they're doing well. From a Boro perspective, we have a tendency to think they're all about Traore, but I suspect Wolves fans wouldn't have had him above their 4th or 5th most important player last season.

Adama uses all the oil to stop people pulling him back by his arms, had quite a few issues with a dislocated shoulder I seem to remember, in fact he dislocated it 4 times last season.

I wondered what all that was about.

Wolves are doing a different thing aren’t they. Some clubs like Sevilla are totally controlled by their Director of Football, then you have clubs like Arsenal under Wenger who are built in a single guy’s image.

This Wolves team is the first time I think an agent has been de factor owner and head of transfers of a major club. It’s interesting as well because they’re not a selling club, so it’s not like they exist only to put Mendes clients in the shop window - if they were they’d have sold Jimenez and Adama by now and wouldn’t be paying £50m for 18 year olds like Fabio Silva who don’t even get in the team.

It’s almost like Mendes has got a sweet enough deal where the owners let him do what he wants with the club’s pursestrings and they, and he, make enough money playing for Wolves in the PL so he doesn’t need to flip them to the highest bidder, unlike teams like Dortmund or Ajax or RB Leipzig.

For the manager I don’t think the quality is as important as the colour of his passport. It’s Nuno, Jose or Villas-Boas I suppose, and Nuno’s earned enough credit.

To be fair we flirted with the Mendes thing during that weird period where Peter Kenyon was Gibbo’s neighbour/advisor, but Wolves have properly gone for it.

I’d quite like to be a Wolves fan at the minute, it’s uncharted waters but exciting to watch.

Where would you expect them to be in the table now? Where do you expect them finish?

pretty sure he will get a cut weather the players are being bought or sold.. even if they just stay at the club and depreciate in value.. he gets a cut.
