“Anyone who breaks the rules on travel could be hit with a £200 fine in the first instance. That doubles for further offences, up to a maximum of £6,400.”

hope this includes international breaks. Absolute madness players flying around Europe to play friendlies
Overnight stays within the UK are also banned, whether that is in a hotel, second home or caravan, if that is not your primary residence, as well as anyone you don't live with.

It has been remarkable how many of the celebrity types appear to have gone on long haul holidays during all of this. I suppose they can afford to take more risks.

I haven’t got a second home in the UK, but if I had why would I be at more of a risk staying there than I would at home? Same rules apply, this is one of their rules I don’t get.

Seems to imply overnight, not that you can't stay there for the duration

I think I mean even overnight. If I (or whoever) followed all the other rules then they wouldn’t be creating any additional risk anyway.

I do know a couple who live in Berkshire who also have a place in Suffolk, both small villages. They follow the rules, but really a Few nights in Suffolk, they would come into contact with no one, what’s the harm? The journey? They’ve never had an issue with that for thirty years, statistically it‘s nothing. They don’t I must stress.

It’s because most people don’t just go From A to B and that’s the end of it. They go from A to B and start using shops and services in B, and potentially bring the virus with them to B when it wasn’t there before. Or go back to A with it and resume using shops and services there. You can’t police those that don’t come into contact with anyone vs those that do

I think it's also about setting an example - the more people do this, the more will think "well if they're doing it so will I" and the risk increases exponentially

We could call it the "Dom theory" or the "Ferrier effect"

Even in Barbados it seems they still couldn’t give a damn.

'A massive mixup and misunderstanding'? What?

Did she mean to go to Scarborough and whilst doing some research on where to go, seen it referred to as Scarbados, and then ended up on the other side of the ocean?

The warm weather training jaunt to Dubai by Celtic FC isn't going down very well with their fans or Scottish Parliament.
Definitely a case of one rule for you and one rule for us hypocrisy.
It was booked a short while ago but they didn't have to go.

They should all be ashamed from director level down.
