Tomorrow at Base Camp - kicking off with a free buffet lunch at noon.
A film unit descended on Middlesbrough during lockdown to capture various individuals from different communities across Middlesbrough and North Ormesby. I know that locations include allotments in Albert Park, White Feather project that provided a food lifeline for many from its North Ormesby base and Ayresome Park, former home of the Boro.
I believe the brief was to look at a handful of northern towns post Brexit and try to see what things were like a grass roots level.

Here is what they say - this is the first ever viewing of some of the footage and is being shown as part of Local History Month.
FREE EVENT
Join us for an afternoon of discussion about findings and insights from the Northern Exposure project, a University of Leeds project which focuses on the experiences and lives of ordinary residents in Northern towns and cities in a period of intense change and drama in national politics. The project features a profile of Middlesbrough, alongside Wakefield, Halifax and Preston in the North. We will be showing work in progress excerpts from a documentary film about the project being made by film maker Lucy Kaye.
The event will interest everyone interested in local social history in the town, and the challenges it faces coming to terms with change, inequalities and an increasingly diverse population.
There is buffet lunch served at 12 noon
