Nobbys Notebook - Preston North End 📖✍️👍

Hi Sportsfans, an abject performance from the Lillywhites last night. They didn't have a game plan, looked dodgy at the back and a non existent goal threat.
The manager will soon be under massive pressure after only 2 wins in 11 games.

I'm struggling to select anyone this week tbh. No.7 Will Keane is a decent player but was hooked at half time, he just couldn't get into the game.

No.9 Ched Evens looked like a cart horse.

No. 22 Calvin Ramsay was introduced at HT and at least looked bright and inventive and had some nice touches. He was making his debut for Preston having signed on loan from Liverpool. His last senior appearance was for Liverpool in the Carabou Cup 12 months ago.

Rather than going for the obvious player on loan from a Premier League club this week's choice is No.33 Kian Best.
Best was caught napping for the first goal but stuck to Jones pretty well after that. Good pace and tidy in possession from left wing back he at least tried to look for a forward pass. His left footed delivery on free kicks was pretty decent also. Unfortunately was forced off after taking a whack.

Aged just 18 and only made his debut this season. Already made 3 England U18 caps....

He's in the famous Notebook guys 👍

Life's work.....

Nobby, are you aware that Blackpool fans call Preston NE the ‘knobbers’?
Aka Preston Knob End.
Preston fans call Blackpool the ‘lashers’
Something to do with sexual favours from Donkey’s, so I’m led to believe. Thought you might like to add that as a foot note to your diary 😀

Thanks for the info BR 👍

Kian Best? more like Kian Worst!

Andrew Hughes - i'm a long time admirer of the chronically underrated left sided centre back
Ben Whiteman - another solid performer, nearly a boro lad too

THE MVP PICK HAS TO BE:
Mads Frøkjær-Jensen - 24yo Danish attacking midfielder.. bits of brilliance rather than rough and tumble clogging from KB
just over £1m transfer fee and doing the business straight away 33% goal involvement over the season.. love to see it. thank fook we kept him under wraps!

Best was the top rated Preston player on whoscored.com with 6.6. So well spotted Nobby. But every Boro player rated higher including Dieng who did little all evening

Thought MFJ was completely anonymous TBH 👍 I'm not too fussed with stats TBH abbreviations are better 👍
I prefer to see players with MOE (My Own Eyes) 👍

I think Kian Best was specifically targeted as a weak point by Carrick - After Jones first goal we had a weird "drinks break", and Carrick called Jones over a couple of times individually too.

He didn't have his best game in my opinion - However, 18 years old playing consistently in the championship... He'd be in my notebook (y)
