Happy New Year Sportsfans and welcome once again to my Notebook post
A narrow 1-0 victory against a stubborn Millwall side in front a very good crowd of nearly 25k made for a great afternoon
Millwall were very well organised and combative without really having the flair players to create any clear cut chances.
No.10 Flemming has scored 10 goals this season but he was poor and couldn't influence the game, his pathetic freekick attempt in the second half kept the South Stand amused.
A player I like is No. 39 George Honeyman but he too was ineffective on the day.
Millwall's best defender was No.4 Shaun Hutchinson who made one outstanding tackle on Crooks in the penalty area in the second half.
However my Notebook choice this time was only on the the pitch for about 15 minutes
No.50 Romain Esse did enough in his cameo appearance to get in the notebook this week, great ball control, tricky and strong, we simply couldn't get the ball off him. A.product of the Millwall academy he is still only 17 and has a bright future in the game
