No way is that a penalty in the Liverpool game. VAR is pathetic.!

I'm watching this game and thinking that if we didn't go up this season, it wouldn't be a disaster to avoid refereeing like that.

Awful, awful decision making. Ball went the wrong way, he then looks at the goalie and heads towards him for the tumble.

We get stupid mistakes in our league, but at least they're not verified, considered... And then still given!

A shocking decision. Never, ever a penalty. Didn’t even look a penalty when they slows it down. Shocking.

The initial decision by Friend was no penalty so it wasn’t verified it was overturned.

wonder why the ref changed his mind, we should be able to hear what the dialogue is between ref on pitch and VAR ref
I would've loved to hear the dialogue between Michael Oliver and VAR at Old Trafford a couple of weeks back. If the foul on Cavani was so clear and obvious why did they spend two minutes trying to find an offside involving Danny Ings? At what point did they decide to look for a foul instead? If they say they're checking for an offside but don't find one, can they change that check to one for a foul instead? Are they even allowed to do this? And would Villa have got that decision at the other end of the field? I think we know the answer.

Referee's get a lot of stick, they have a split second to make a decision, when others then look at video replays at different speeds and different angles they stil can't decide.

We have VAR because fans/media/football world couldn't accept the fallibility of referee's, mistakes will always be made, people wanted absolutes, now with offside you get absolute decisions i.e. on or off according to the laws of the game but some people still complain, that it was a wrong decision, it doesn't matter how close, offside is offside, that's what people wanted.

In terms of today's decision it would seem that even with the help of VAR refs can still get it wrong or is just as its always been down to the interpretation of the referee and we just need to accept that with or without VAR.
