No golf from Thursday!

Unless you've got a lake in your garden I think it comes under 'unnecessary travel'.

The angling trust seem to think it’s ok, I have a lake within 5 minutes walk from me which constitutes exercise. I also know of ponds that aren’t even on the maps and miles from the nearest road.

Otherwise hopefully the 500,000 rod licenses in the U.K. demand the return of the money they paid to the government that they aren’t being allowed to use.

If I go as mad or as angry as I did during the last lockdown I feel sorry for the first person that annoys me especially if I do lose my job.

Any golfers out there please sign this petition. EGU are challenging this stupid ruling so hopefully golf will be able to continue. There is absolutely no logical reason why we can‘t play in pairs like we did in May and June.

LTA are challenging it for tennis too, saying singles should be allowed. I suspect (hope) they'll make exceptions if reasonable. Obviously golf has a stronger case than tennis I'd have thought as you're not even touching the same ball.

To be fair, golfers stand closer to one another at the tee, and I’d imagine walk closer together whilst walking the course, when playing someone.

True, maybe not much in it then. Suppose you'll probably spend more time with the other person playing golf too. I don't play golf, do play tennis but seems pretty logical to allow both under certain conditions.

Absolutely, they’re still playing tennis in Italy and they still play after the 6pm curfew for cafes and restaurants too.

Do they? I never stand on a tee box when playing with someone unless they ask me to stand behind them to watch for the ball in low sun. Not like you walk down the fairway holding hands together either, always over 1meter apart.

Golfers are closer than tennis players was the point I trying to make. After lockdown, how many players were allowed to go around a course together? (I don’t know). Tennis was safer than golf in one study I read.

Ahh my bad I read it wrong. At first it was 2 balls only for a week or so which then changed to 4 balls, guests were allowed to play a further week later.
