No Bags For Millwall

Just heard Millwall are banning all bags over A4 size in the stadium - a size restriction that was in use at the Euros this summer.
I hope this doesn't catch on elsewhere -

Millwall are to restrict bags in the stadium on matchdays and will be charging £6 for any bag over A4 size.
Bags not small enough will have to be deposited in a container during the match.

Done at Spurs for many years (our FA cup replay) and in place for Springsteen at Wembley on Saturday as an example.

Spuds were doing it when we played them in their new stadium for that cup replay. There was a massive queue over road from ground with people storing bags. Crazy must have took them ages putting them in and getting them out.

I’ve never understood this modern thing with back packs on an afternoon out at a match. If it doesn’t fit in your two jeans pockets you don’t blummin need it! Wallet, phone and change. It’s the Riverside not the North Face of Everest FFS

Spectacles, testicles, wallet and watch. The four point check should be all you need for any day out anywhere.

In my bag now is an asthma inhaler, a COVID mask, several sachets of condiments, an iPod, pair of headphones, glasses, sunglasses, Chapstick, a pen, some post it notes, a lighter, a pack of fags and a Graham green novel. This is pretty much vital equipment for me when I go anywhere.

Plenty of people travelling to away games have their overnight stay bag with them.

At the Euros I saw a father and young son stopped with their new backpack. Not allowed in but there was no bag area. They either had to find a bin and throw it away or not go in the stadium..
I am not sure what they ended up doing.

How do you know it was new, did it still have the tags on it?
