I have always been a huge admirer of him and his life. So held off watching the film Tesla as thought it would be rubbish. It was bonkers but fairly decent.
This person literally change our lives.

I’m sure you’ll know then that despite his reputation with AC motors etc. he was actually a massive developer of wireless systems. So ahead of his time, genius.

Yep a true true genius. When people say who would they like to meet or have dinner with, this guy is always my number 1 , I'd love to talk to him and see how his mind worked.

I never knew there was a film about Tesla. I'll be checking it out (y)
Tesla's law is still in the back of my mind From when I was at marine college.

He certainly had his issues but some of the things he came up with are amazing. A lot of people don't know about the work he did with fluids. I recently learned about the Tesla valve which has no moving parts. It's so simple in design that you wouldn't think it would work when you see it. The bladeless turbine is genius too but requires incredible rates of rotation that we still can't pull off at scale.

I seem to remember there was strong competition between Telsa/Westinghouse and Edison over which type of electricity supply should be used in the USA. DC was Edison with low voltage, but needing lots of generating stations, while AC/DC with very high voltages ws Telsa/Westinghouse which could be tranmitted over long distances. Edison kept saying AC/DC was highly dangerous and eletrocuted and killed an elephant to prove it. He also was keen to experiement on convcted murderers in the USA with using electricity to execute. Some of the early electric chair deaths were absolutely horrendous taking over a hour to kill someone and effectively frying them. Edison called it a humane death!
