Nicola sturgeon

I genuinely have no idea if she did anything wrong. An independent judge has looked at the evidence and said she didn’t breach the ministerial code.

The committee (which is made up of 9 MSP’s, 4 of which are SNP) will apparently vote 5-4 (do the maths as to who voted for and against her) that she mislead them.

Nothing clear cut about it.

I think it stretches credibility to breaking point to believe she was oblivious to or forgot so much of what was going on, especially when it was apparently common knowledge in the high circles of Scotland.
But we can't check peoples memories so it's just her word you can go off.

Genuine question, what was common knowledge?

Genuine question, what was common knowledge?

The behaviour of Alex Salmond, the subsequent allegations, and then her meetings with him over it, which she apparently cannot remember.

But it's always going to be a fraught situation as it's a partisan issue and I'm sure many from the other parties would go after her even if they didn't really think she'd done anything wrong.

That was my point. Just read the various statements from various parties.

It’s clearly partisan now, I presume it always was.

It’s more than partisan when it involves a crack in the same party given who the 2 parties involved were.

I haven't followed this all that closely, but I thought she was genuinely close to Salmond, was shocked by the news including admissions of some uncomfortable behaviour or comments from Salmond himself. In which case trying to stay out of it doesn't surprise me. She seems to have been let down by her advisors and the people in charge of the investigation. We also have Salmond playing the part of a woman scorned, being resentful she did not step in and help, which he has then twisted into her being part of the 'witchunt' against him.

Hope you didn't back your hunch TG?

And she sees of the Tory party once again. Ruth Davidson left looking like a flailing idiot once more.
She sees off the Tory party AND the British media again. I think this point can't be understated. She is and will continue to be the victim of a prolonged media witch hunt in this country due to overwhelming press bias.

Or she tends to get a free ride solely on the point of independence. Will be interesting to see what happens with the new Alba party, will no doubt strengthen the calls for indepence at Holyrood following the AV election but if they are succesful then they could fracture the vote and result in less independent leaning seats at Westminster in the FPTP UK elections

She gets a free ride? I must have imagined the intense media campaign against her in the past month then? A huge smear campaign based on the fact she was falsely accused of breaking the ministerial code. Meanwhile Johnson DOES break the ministerial code and it gets a tiny single artcile, single day footnote.

It's unequivocal bias.
