Nicola Bulley still missing

It's mind blowing this situation. Often it's easy to lose reality and predict the outcome like a Netflix police officer, but the poor kids and family must be suffering absolutely awful. In a brutal way you'd possibly rather find a body in the river than never know?

With respect I think the police will have already asked a **** load of questions of a **** load of people, many of them pretty intrusive.
I think I read that there are 40 detectives on this. Do people think that they're all just looking in the river or the sea?🙄

I only ask as TV appearances have given people away in the past, it's a bit of a different situation to a police interview. But in no way am I accusing the partner - I was just wondering if that is why the questions were odd.

This Teams call that was logged into on her phone. Did she actually participate or was it just logged on with mike muted and video off?

I'd echo this and whilst I get people's interest in her disappearance some of the stuff on here has been laughable really.

The police will be investigating this in a very methodical, professional and well practice way and whilst there will be lots of lots of information they have that isn't in the public domain it is still overwhelmingly likely she has gone into the river.

Its probably been mentioned already , but its been reported she was wearing a Fitbit, I would of thought it would be pretty easy to see her last known location using the data it sends , that's assuming it was turned on and set up

You have to connect to Bluetooth and upload the data onto the phone so depends if it did that
.

Earlier today the police alluded to issues but said they couldn’t provide the detail. Come five o clock we discover she had drink problems brought on by the menopause.

Do we really need this info , does it help the investigation. It certainly won’t help her friends and family who weren’t aware of this.

I thought the original idea not to disclose these details was the right one - I’m not sure what changed!

Police looking for excuses already.

I would say it’s key info on what was going through her head.

They have also said there was involvement from the police 3 weeks before.

I have said it before and my opinion has strengthened on this release… she has walked out of her life of her own accord.

The reason they have released the info is presumably because conclusion no.1 of falling into the river seems less and less likely due to the fact her body has not been found and conclusion no.2 of her leaving of her own accord due to issues in her life becomes more possible.

Conclusion no.3 of her being the victim of a crime remains unaffected and stil lon the table.

This is horrible for the family no matter what happens, and it seems to have brought out the worse of people on the internet and unwelcome wannabe Miss Marple visitors to the village etc.

I'll say it again and with respect, some of the posts on here are nonsense.

It's overwhelmingly likely that she has gone into the river and given that likelihood she may not be found for weeks, months or even not at all.

The reason why the police have released the information about her vulnerabilities is to try and stem the conspiracy theories and the theories of the armchair detectives.

If the police believed there had been any third party involvement they would be treating the investigation as a crime, given to would then provide a host of additional powers within the legislation to do so.

Its a very sad case, but contrary to some people's views the police actually know what they're doing.

In a statement on Wednesday evening, police expanded this to explain they had attended her home a week before she went missing after a report of “concern for welfare”.

In an “unusual step”, they said, they chose to reveal that Bulley’s partner, Paul Ansell, had disclosed that she suffered from issues with alcohol.

“Sadly, it is clear from speaking to Paul and the family that Nicola had in the past suffered with some significant issues with alcohol which were brought on by her ongoing struggles with the menopause, and that these struggles had resurfaced over recent months. This caused some real challenges for Paul and the family.

“It is an unusual step for us to take to go into this level of detail about someone’s private life, but we felt it was important to clarify what we meant when we talked about ‘vulnerabilities’ to avoid any further speculation or misinterpretation.”

The senior investigating officer on the case, Det Supt Becky Smith, criticised the social media speculation, saying it had “significantly distracted the police”, adding: “TikTokers have been playing their own private detectives. In 29 years police service, I have never seen anything like it.

“Some of it’s been quite shocking, and really hurtful to the family.”

She said there were some “persistent myths that keep being referred to in the press”, including one linked to an abandoned house, which police have searched three times, a red van, which is not a significant part of the investigation, and a glove, which has been ruled out as not belonging to Bulley.

Smith added: “We’re really, really grateful to members of the public for ringing in to the inquiry, we wouldn’t have gotten this far without everybody’s help. But I think it’s also really obvious that we are being inundated with false information, accusations and rumours, which is distracting us from our work.”

Releasing things of a personal nature about this woman by the police is absolutely outrageous its finger pointing at its worst, saying she had a drink problem in no way at all helps the search for her its just a crude attempt to defelct attention from thier own incompetence, shame on them
