Nicola Bulley still missing

8.43am – Bulley walked along a path by the River Wyre, having dropped her children off at school.

8:50am (approximately) – A dog walker – somebody who knows Nicola – saw her walking around the lower field with her dog. Their two dogs interacted briefly before the witness left the field via the river path.

8.53am – Bulley sent an email to her boss.

9.01am – She logged into a Teams call.

9.10am (approximately) – A witness – somebody who knows Bulley – saw her on the upper field walking her dog, Willow.

9.30am – The Teams call ended but Nicola stayed logged on.

9.35am (approximately) – Nicola’s mobile phone and Willow were found at a bench by the river by another dog walker.

I just can't get my head around that timeline. Normally when someone goes missing there's a big gap when they can't be accounted for. Just 20 minutes, during which time she seemingly set her phone down on the bench - mid-call - before disappearing?

You'd have thought the obvious reason to be going anywhere near the waters edge would be if the dog had gone in and she was trying to help it back out, but then the dog would have been wringing wet when it was found and I don't believe this was the case.

If shes set her phone down on a bench and someone fell in the river, surely there'd be some evidence of such. A footprint showing her near the river, perhaps a mark in the mud/riverbank where she slipped or skidded on the mud there'd be something there...Also wouldn't her dog have been stood at the edge looking in, barking etc if she had gone in?

They've said now that it does not appear she fell into the river...

Maybe, maybe not, but it's overwhelmingly more likely she had slipped and fallen into the river, which seems to be a pretty strong and fast flowing one.

A footprint, for example, isn't conclusive of anything, especially given the police aren't in possession of her shoes, or even aware what she's she was wearing a far as we know. From the pictures in the reports it looks like the area was grassy so there's a chance that nothing like that would be evident.

Let's just hope she's found soon, for her family's sake

They could work out the shoes she had one, by visiting home and asking friends/family which shoes are missing.

Police saying nothing to suggest 3rd party and nothing to suggest she went in the river, so she laid her phone down, tied her dog up, and just walked off is their thinking...

Even if they know which shoes she was wearing they don't have them to compare to any footprints.

In any case we're speculating of course and the police will have information that's bit in the public domain, so I'm pretty sure they will have a better idea than us about what happened and that includes the possibility that it wasn't an accident, or that a third party was involved.

The Guardian article doesn't help saying

'Her mobile phone and the lead and harness for her dog, a springer spaniel called Willow, were found on a bench'

Instead of saying the dog was found

The dog being found is important as the fact that it was not wet etc rules out her going in after it, and if she's attached it's lead to the bench it shows she's apparently gone to do 'something'

Must be awful for her family at the moment

Thought of a loved one going missing kills me. I would not be able to function, until it was resolved one way or another no matter how long the 'search' went on.

I read that the dog was found running loose in a distressed state by another dog walker. They found the lead on ground between bench and river and tied the dog up as they were in a rush to get home for an appointment.

I have contemplated vanishing but when you read what it does to the people you have left behind, it is a cruel thing to do. I imagine she has slipped and fallen into the river. Poor family not knowing.
