NFL Week 3

Enjoyed NFL for the last ten years or so. I do find it amazing though the turnaround in results in the latter stages of games. Yes, there are multiple points for scores, and the draft and salary cap try and even out the playing talent. But, for nearly 3/4 games to be close, is there a bit of meddling with officials?

Looking forward to tomorrow night. Great way to spend a Sunday evening

I don't think so.
First, the multiple points per score is important. I seem to remember some late turnarounds in our European adventures due to the away goals counting double, so it's not like it didn't happen in football. I'd think more than 75% of football matches are within 2 goals going in to the last 15 minutes too.

And their league is set up to make an even contest. I know some see that as artificially creating competition, but I'd argue our competition rules artificially limit competition. What sponsorship from a Chinese betting company. or how much merchandise you can flog to kids in the States and Thailand has to do with football is beyond me. we've accepted it for so long people assume that that it is, but it isn't really.

The nfl is unique though as there really is only one league on the planet so it has no rival or competitor so players don’t have the option of playing in China or the Middle East europe etc so it creates this bubble.

Look at the dolphins now and they tanked to get the draft picks a tactic the jets tried this summer as well.

It is the greatest sport on the planet, competitive games every week, bad teams can become great in a couple of seasons and everyone is on a level playing field. The true definition of sport.

Disagree - the Jets were just dogsh*t 😁😁

Its funny seeing the Bills fans on twitter complaining about lots of things from yesterday but mainly the weather, the tables will be turned into December when Miami go to freezing Buffalo but no one seems to use the cold as an excuse.
