NFL Fantasy League

We have ran an NFL Fantasy league for the last 4 or 5 seasons now which originated with people from this board.
Numbers have dwindled over last couple of seasons where we now have 8 players.

I'm posting this to try and get an influx of new teams for the new season and if there is enough interest I will split it into two divisions.

It's just for fun and no money involved. Anyone interested?

Hi,
Might be interested. Can you post details on playing?

I'm quite bad at these: pick my team at the start of the year, then have no time to spend on it during the season.

We do it through the official NFL fantasy site.

There is a fantasy draft where all squads (Rosters) are picked using a draft system. And from there you pick your weekly starting line up. You can trade with other teams however trades are quite rare as it is difficult to find trades where both teams are happy. You can also pick up free agents (Waivers) and release players each week. This is much more common and is generally the way you would make changes to your roster.

Did it for a couple of years but found it ruined the game for me, I ended up just watching red zone rather than games, mentally calculating points from the plays shown & what the implication was for my match & the division.
And then the time through the week spent looking at the schedule, injury lists before setting your line up.
ugh.

Also annoyed that the Oline weren't included in the game. They should be get points for setting up runs & lose them for sacks, fumbles etc.

Anyway been 'clean' for a few years but always get a twinge at the start of the season, I think I'll pass again though.

BUMP - Still trying to get a few more teams for this. 6 weeks until the draft and the fantasy season starts

I could be tempted back. I have similar addiction problems as @newusername so I've had a few years break. When is the draft because it's only worth doing if you can do the draft otherwise you can end up with a right hodge podge of a team.

I was the same also although to be fair I do still set DraftKings lineups most weeks but I have so many different lineups that calculating my teams is irrelevant because they were so different. But yeah, same issue for me, particularly with the Premier League one, if I'm into something I want to win and I'm a bit of nerd so I look into everything possible. I finished top 1k in the world at fantasy Premier League in 20/21 and called it a day. Didn't do any fantasy leagues across any sports at all last year and it was so much better, found myself enjoying the games I chose to watch but I wouldn't HAVE to watch every minute like I did before.

I can never just half ass something even when it's not that serious, it's the same with sport when I was younger or video games, I hate losing if I care about whatever it is.

Can you leave the same team if necessary, it’s just with work commitments I might not be able to change teams on a weekly basis.

Yes but injuries & players falling out of form/favour can leave your line up reduced & point scorers on the bench.

However, as each week is a match up between you & someone else in the league, if they are even more unlucky then you, you can still win that game.

After overdoing the fantasy stuff years back, I find it goes quickly now and is much less time-consuming😉

I will join if there is space. I have been playing this for a couple of seasons (with varying success and failure) in random leagues against random American people.
In fact, I think I was in the FMTTM league 3 or 4 years ago.

Edit - Joined.

Hi, I did forget about this, sorry.

Do you draft 22/23 positions, or do you draft units, i.e. defences, offensive lines, and then a few skill positions? I don't think my knowledge is up to the minutia of many positons.
Also, what are points awarded for? Touchdowns obviously, passes I expect, what else?

Your starting line up will consist of

QB
RB
RB
WR
WR
TE
Flex - Either RB/WR/TE
K
Def - Def Line

Then you have a further 6 players on the bench that can be any of the above and can be switched in and out as required
