Newcastle takeover .

Reckon it’ll all end in tears this, can’t see any of the big name players a minority of Newcastle fans are suggesting even contemplating going there.

Regardless of how much money is put in there's no guarantee Newcastle will suddenly become like Man City.

They have a lot of catching up on Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea, Man United and perhaps even Spurs and Everton.

Make no mistake though. Saudi Arabia are doing this for Saudi Arabia. Newcastle is a great city and area so I genuinely hope it benefits but it's yet another example of English football selling to anyone with a bit of cash.

Getting confirmed today apparently, with Steve Bruce being one of the first casualties of the murderous regime.

Players will go anywhere if the money is right.
They're no different from the rest of us.... money talks.

They will if they are paid enough, hard to see how they wont be able to compete at the very top with that money behind them

Nice bit of business for Cashly.
Turns a tidy profit and has had free publicity for 14 years out of it as well.

Its absolutely disgusting not just Newcastle but how the saudis have bought up so much of the country's assets and companies . The UKs cosy relationship with Saudis is appalling and it goes right upto the royal family. I hope the new owners are brutally embarrassed by other clubs fans. Humans rights abuses shouldn't be sports washed away and we should not be doing any business football related or in general with that country.

It make me so angry that these countries are tainting football by using their wealth to purchase clubs when behind closed doors, violence murder and torture goes on.

Nobody would get my juices flowing for a £300m+ war chest.

I wonder why it seems very rare that British billionaires have little interest in buying clubs, certainly when it comes to those in the Premier League.

Because they are an absolute money pit. Only oil and gas rich nations can do due to ongoing income from those resources.

And those that have iffy Human Rights records that are willing to pay through the backdoor (Prem exposure) to get some form of legitimacy.
That's only true of some though. I'm not aware of people like Kroenke or Radrizzani having these sorts of issues to contend with.

True, but not always, look at Leicesters owners. I do agree though, that those absolute monarchical regimes are trying to legitimise through sport, I already don't watch the PL, nor watch a few races in the F1 calendar due to this. Anything sponsored by Emirates, Saudia, Aramco, Etihad etc, I tend to switch off.

The guy who own Dunhelm Mill for example; multi-billionaire and supposedly a massive Leeds Utd fan, but all the times I've known the club to have changed hands, I've never know him be interested in buying them, even when they were rock bottom with Bates, administration and then Cellino.
