Newcastle Sale Falls Through

There was some fella being interviewed on the local news last night, I'm guessing from their fanzine.

Said the last four months had been very stressful due to the takeover uncertainty.

Talk about being self absorbed - get a grip FFS.

I'm surprised 97% of them were in favour of the move. Ashley, who's a bit of a d*ck or a fund backed by an absolute monarchy with a terrible record of human rights and subjugation, and bombing civilians for the last 5 years in Yemen.

Yeah, tough call.

"Everybody was thinking we could be the next Manchester City, although caveated by what's come to light now, that nothing really good happens with Newcastle."

o_O

A business deal is withdrawn - oh dear!
The circus up there rumbles on.
It gives Jim White on Talksport the space to spout his vitriol against the Premier League for investigating the proposed deal and the new owners.........but complains bitterly about the EFL not implementing "due diligence" in similar circumstances!
Hypocrite!

Today its TalkSkunk - with all sorts of whingin Geordies!

Ashley could have sold many moons ago if he wasnt such a hard-nosed profiteering narcisistic person.

Why the surprise?

Do the skunks really think they are going to be Champions League winners if money is poured into their hole?

Dream on.

If they win 3 on the spin jawdees start talking about the Champions League. In jawdee minds, everyday is still the day after they beat Barcelona.

This 100%. I find it staggering that such an overwhelming majority were in favour. Doesn't reflect well on their fanbase at all. So desperate for success they'd be willing for their club to be used to help legitimise a regime like that. I'd hope we'd be different but who knows?

Newcastle are a established premier league club. This is not enough for the fans however somehow feel entitled to be the next Man Utd or Liverpool, despite never performing on such a level.

There are plenty of our fans calling for Gibson to go, soI guess that all fans are similar to some degree. However my view from the outside is that the ridiculous sense of over-entitlement seems particularly strong with the Newcastle fans at the moment.

If that consortium had come to buy Boro, I'd be seriously disappointed and in all honesty walk away from the club. As much as love my home team, its only football at the end of day and it shouldn't be used, as festa5 said, to legitimize a regime with that bad of a reputation.

Think I would too. Maybe a splinter club could be set up, reform the Nops!

Fortunately I'm pretty sure it's not a choice we'll ever have to make.

65 years since they won a non-invitation major trophy
93 years since they won the league
Number of UEFA sanctioned finals 0
Number of League Cup wins 0

Over the last 65 years or so they are a less successful club than their near neighbours down by the Tees.

Big club.....
