Newcastle 🤭

Have the Saudis pulled the plug financially, or are there recent troubles down to PSR etc? I haven't heard or read anything about their proposed new stadium recently

Im sure they received a hefty fine from UEFA recently due to financial misdemeanors. If the Saudis can’t spend their money they’ll move onto something more interesting. Fingers crossed!!

If you use Simon Jordan as a bellwether (yes I know) it sounds like the Saudis might be cooling their interest a bit.

Having tonnes of money doesn’t mean you can spend it and the only way they’ll break into the top 6 club is by dropping a billion on a new stadium then waiting another 5 years for it to start paying for itself. Doesn’t sound like the appetite is there.

It’s hilarious timing for Newcastle. A few years earlier and all those petrodollars would have transformed them into title winners. Now, they can’t spend like that without massive investment on a Spurs type stadium.

PSR is just an easy excuse for teams like Newcastle. Does PSR impact them? Of course it does but the club have done close to nothing to improve its revenue. For example a sponsor for the training gear was only recently appointed. They could change name of stadium. They could do long term deals like Chelsea. They could try to be creative. Newcastle don’t. They just sit and moan about PSR. Look at the lack of sell-on clause on the Anderson deal for evidence the club lack the commercial acumen.

I can see Newcastle training ground from my house and honestly, for a club that size, it’s shocking. The infrastructure around the club is very poor. Not surprised players are concerned about joining them.

Oh, Bruno's f***ng magic,

He wears a magic hat

He could've signed for Arsenal,

But he said ‘No f**k that',

He wants to play for Eddie,

In the famous black and white,

And when we win the Premier League

We'll sing this song all night

😂😂😂😂
