New striker

I cannot believe we have not got a new striker in by now. With games coming thick and fast we will just have to keep our fingers crossed that nobody else gets crocked.
 
I think we are just gonna have to make do with Akpom and Britt and have Roberts and Browne chip in playing the second striker role/ 10 role aswell. 10 weeks until January. I would like to get someone on a free if possible but can’t see it happening.
 
Give the lads from u23s a run on the bench (Burrell, O'Neil and Fletcher), it's the only way they'll develop, rather than waste a wage on a journeyman reject.
 
We've got three first team strikers at the club, as many as we had during our successful periods in the 70s, 80s and 90s, as well as having a bigger squad.

Early days but the manager seems to be making a decent fist of it.
 
All seems a bit odd - just missed out on Bolassie then the very next day Warnock talks about possibly not having the money or will have to check and is awaiting the green light. My own view and hope is he was so fed up with agents etc in the last window so he is saying nothing and going for his target, ibelieve he has a target and the approval to bring him in but just wants to do it quietly!

Agree, they are scoring, they’re not bairns, get em involved
 
I think the nathen wood sub was a pure 'look what I'm having to do' at Gibson.

I don't understand how if we had money for Bolasie then we don't for some out of work forward. I know it's not as 'simplistic' as that due to wages / signing on fees and agents.

I know I maybe biased but if I was an out of work forward I'd see Boro as a decent opportunity to at least put yourself in the shop window and earn a few quid... Treat the missus to a trip to Dubai next summer😂
 
I saw O'Neill quite a lot playing for Darlo and I though he was excellent. Big jump from National League North to the Championship but until he is tried at this level we'll never know.
 
Teams seem very reluctant to throw in 17-18yr old forwards. You'd think they are a better option than throwing Wood on.

I am sure they are working on Browne. They are probably trying to convert him into more of a No9 behind the scenes.
