The video for OSEES’ new single pays tribute to Dr Strangelove and Troma and even casts the latter’s founder, Lloyd Kaufman, in a role. John Dwyer calls it “a big fvck you to war mongers everywhere.”

NZ rock icons Split Enz’s debut album, Mental Notes, was released 50 years ago today. Neil Finn, who didn’t join his brother Tim in the band till 1977 and went on to found Crowded House, has recorded a cover a song from it to celebrate. “I was absolutely enchanted and inspired by Mental Notes as a 17 year old. It made me believe anything was possible. 50 years later, it sounds as unique and timeless as it did then. Here’s my version of one of my favourite songs on it, written by Philip Judd, Time For A Change.”
