New mass vaccination centre to open.

My dad has had a nightmare trying to get his booked. Kept on giving York as the only option (received a letter from the NHS), he wanted to stay local for obvious reasons. Eventually got sorted at Redcar.

There were vaccination centres ready to go from mid-March in the area but the DHSC pulled the plug after the North East was shown to exceed in their roll-out of the vaccine and it was judged that the rest of England needed some equity to make things fair for all.

Sounds like another battle of the North/Sound divide to me, and now we've satisfied the 15 million jabs pledge, it may well be the case of "pull the ladder up, Jack!".

Surgeries in Leeds have been contacting those in the 30-40 age group for vaccinations. Apparently they are flying through them. There was a story I saw yesterday about it. Also confirmed when the wife's sister was also invited to one, she's only 37 .

There were none available in R&C and had to leave the area two weeks later. Something strange going on.

How do they get in touch with you???
I tried booking online yesterday but it wouldn't complete the booking at the confirmation stage so I rang the no.on the NHS letter I received and got straight through.Darlington was the nearest available but due to it opening on Monday it wasn't an option online at the time.

I would imagine they are people in the underlying health conditions group. That's the biggest one with nearly 8 people. They should be a couple of months away from vaccinating 30 year olds at the very least, unless they're having to use vaccinations at short notice.

The two people I've quoted have no underlying health conditions at all. Definitely know this as a fact for the sister in law.

With the weather being better in my part of Spain they are setting up drive through centres in open air car parks. Get your jab through the car window. Wait for 15 minutes to see you are OK. Then you (or your driver) drive away.
