New I Phone

My phone cost 150 it has a nice big screen, the battery lasts ages. Other than having a better camera I just don't understand what the other 550 will get me. Are people watching movies and playing games on their phone?
Yes. And using it to edit and sign documents. Also using it as a media controller for the house, carkey and desktop computer. As well as a Sat Nav.

I have a Google pixel. Great phone. Only £25 a month too.
Always fancied one of these.

A few years ago at CES, a youtube channel called Unbox Therapy asked a room full of the biggest tech bloggers what their daily driver phone. They had one of two, either an iPhone or a pixel, it was a 50:50 split too.

They finally asked Marques Brownlee (the king of all the tech bloggers) what he had. He had both pixel and iPhone but said he used the pixel for daily stuff.

So, if the best tech bloggers in the world, the guys who review these things for a living, can say it's the best it must be damn good.

I've got the mid range pixel 3a and it's never missed a beat. Always first in line for Android updates, camera is spot on and it's Google in your pocket.
Definitely looking at getting the newset version next year. Will never buy anything other than Google now.

Great phone the only issue with Google is that they do make big££ from your data

just wait until older versions of iphone are available at cheaper prices...maybe? I still have iphone 7-- works for me but then again I'm not pressed by smedia groups to do what they want -- ie look at so called "cool" things -- whatever that is -- bragging rights before they start talking about cancel culture and everything which is bad about the way we live.

And Apple do too.
It's what you sign up for whenever you get a mobile phone unfortunately.

Think the thing with iPhones and Apple products is that you pay a premium for the phone and the tech itself obviously, but you also get to use the premium operating systems, user interface design, app store and all the software, which is the absolute best in the business.

I get why people look at the phones and think they're 30% too expensive, they probably are, and on paper Samsung and Huawai phones have better specs. But use an Android phone for 10 mins after a few years with an iPhone, or Windows 10 after a few years with MacOS, and it's 50% less user friendly than anything Apple. Really you're paying for access to all that design.

I've published apps for both and can tell you that the Apple experience is flawless; Android is chaotic.

I would disagree with the user interface app store and software. You tend to get people who have used Apple all their life saying android is difficult to use. That's just not true. It's just different. I find android easier to use the iOS, it has much more utility and I can set it up how I want

I watch Sky Sports on my phone. The bigger/better screen size is great for that. (Having said that, my phone was only £200 more, as it's the Galaxy A70). Great screen size, stonking battery, with fast charging.

TBH - I reckon most people don't even use half the 'possible' functionality.

The ONLY bad thing about my A70 telephone is making phone calls!! (It seems to have a tendency to drop calls too easily when the signal is weak (more so than previous phones I've had)).

apple products also tend to hold their value bettter to, giving higher resale costs when you do come to upgrade

nothing irks me more than dickewaving about phones though, same with game consoles and cars. People always want to tell you what you should be using or trying instead of just accepting that you have a preference.

LOL - Is that a fair test!! The absolute same would apply in reverse.

As someone who uses Android and Windows more than Apple (although I use both), I don't find Apple half as 'user friendly' as some folk think it is. It's just what you're used to. I like the more customisable nature of Android/Windows.

If you have an eye for design then the Android design inconsistancies across apps and general stuttering in areas such as webview scrolling, is enough to push you across to Apple with its smooth, sleek UI.

To be fair, the Samsung Note series also holds its value, bot quite as good as an iPhone but not far off. Thats why I tend to go for both phones. I like trying out the latest tech so flip them and its more cost effective to get Samsungs and iPhone. My Huawei resale cost plummeted and I'm being offered £25 for my blackberry key2 so might as well keep that.

I'm not sure what you mean by this? I don't see any design consistency across apps? At least not any more than ios. Thats up to the developers and not the company that makes the OS.

Also, like others just disagree about the UI. Samsung, yes there's can be clunky but the pixel is buttery smooth to us, Huawei and oneplus not far behind in my experience.

Sad to say this but I think people who cite "ui" as why apple is better simply haven't used a modern android and are just showing a bias. It has plus points and minus points. Like android. I'd call both ui a score draw (if you're comparing stock)
