New I Phone

How do you know when someone doesn’t have an iPhone? Because they bust a gut to tell everyone how bad they are.

Fantastic piece of kit, I’ve got an iPhone 11, I had a 7 for 3 years previously. Not an Apple fanboy as I’ve had Samsung’s in the past and I have a Samsung Work Phone, they don’t even compare. The iPhone is a vastly superior phone.
This is patently not true. In which way is the iPhone better? I have an Iphone 11 pro max and a samsung Note 20 ultra. Due to the Samsung having dual SIM it's now my work and home phone and the iPhoneis in a drawer. It has superior speed, more usability, 5g, a better stills camera, more memory (which is upgradable). I'm not having a go by the way it's just I hear a lot of people say the iPhone is better than a Samsung but really struggle to define why

When he says the iPhone is a superior phone it doesn't necessarily mean he is saying the spec is superior. He is surely saying his user experience for him is better?

Its all about choice and preference. I am not saying a Samsung is worse on performance but I will say that after using Apple phones for many years, using a Samsung with work, I much prefer the iPhone. I am sure you say the same thing about your phone. Fair enough.

I suspect a new one will be considerably more than £10 a month.

I am fully aware of that, hence my original post.
I was being a bit lazy and trying to find out if others had been down this route to save me some research time.
I was not attempting to start a full scale IPhone v The Rest war.
The £10.00 deal was based on it being a "teaser" to get people in knowing they would get caned with £50, £60 or above monthly bills. I set the limit immediately at £10.00 so it was never exceeded.
As it turns out she only makes 4-5 calls a month, all social media stuff wi-fi connected.

I'm comparing it to my previous Samsung models which were Galaxy S3/S6/S7, I also have a Samsung A40 currently as a work phone, not a bad little phone but I find the Face ID to be glitchy and the battery performance is poor, it just doesn't feel as smooth as the Iphone, i'm aware that this is a lower end of the market so probably not comparable to the Iphone 11. Granted, I thought the Galaxy models were good enough phones to have a number for a few years however I grew frustrated with them, the size just kept getting bigger and I thought the hardware was prone to damage and wasn't very durable (I had to claim a number of times against phone insurance). Changing to the Iphone 7 was a massive upgrade and the Iphone 11 is a great piece of kit, battery performance is tremendous. I see no advantages in any of the Samsung models to make the move any time soon.

Perhaps if I had the phone you are quoting, I might feel differently but it looks the size of a small house, appears to be significantly more expensive and worst of all, it's a Samsung ;).

Ah I see you have an A40. That's fair enough. It's kind of like saying BMWs are worse than Mercedes because my 220d isn't as good as my Maybach. You're comparing two different things.

I suggest you try the S20. ALmost all the features of the Note, but smaller. It's a significant improvement over the iPhone in so many areas.

Depends what he means by superior I agree, but empirically a comparable Samsung currently is superior than it's rival iPhone. Faster processor, WAY more memory, more storage, more useful storage (i.e it's expenadable), better stills photography, more costumisable and useful operating system, bigger battery, better unlocking features (in the current fully masked world face unlock is useless. Samsung offer both that and a fingerprint unlock)

I've also deliberately ignored Samsung Dex because iPhones haven't even attempted such complex functionality as this. Not even close. Huawei are the only other company I know of that has a Dex type system.

BTW this is when you can plug your phone into a monitor and use it as a fully functioning computer. I find it really useful

This seems a good deal for the iPhone 11 https://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.u...7728&wgu=8497_11628_16033577287349_e8edf1615f. £150 upfront and then £26 a month.

I've just ordered the 12 Pro from Sky Mobile for £45 a month, 20gb data and no upfront cost.
That is a good deal but can I suggest you reconsider? This video is pretty enlightening. The use case for the iPhone 12 pro is very small indeed. If you want an improved camera over the iPhone 12, upgrade to the Pro max. If you don't, then the iPhone 12 should be everything you need. The way I see it the only advantage of getting a pro is the (possible) memory boost over the 12. That's not actually confirmed and with apples stripped back operating system is almost certainly not necessary. Seems either the 12 pro max or the normal 12 are the ones to go for.

I'm thinking of getting the 12. 128gb is @$900+ 8% tax here though.
We have 5g but from what I've read it's not the much better at the moment
I'll watch that video soon

5g can only get better and quickly. It was hopeless round here at the start of the year but the speeds I get on Vodafone are unreal now. Also the iPhone has mmwave 5g which I believe is even faster than standard 5g. If you live in a big city you’ll likely be able to benefit from this soon

I read on CNET that the real benefit was video calls and downloading things like Netflix etc ?
We are 100% covered where I am.
I'm leaning towards apple because of the security issue too, just seems more secure.

Yeah, I've teleconferenced over 5g in West London and it works well. You probably won't notice it for everyday stuff but downloading is so much quicker.

Agreed, Apple seem to be a lot more serious about security than android. I have to run samsung Knox on my phone for added protection.

yes, I'm running VPN and an app called fyde

My phone cost 150 it has a nice big screen, the battery lasts ages. Other than having a better camera I just don't understand what the other 550 will get me. Are people watching movies and playing games on their phone?
