New Elizabeth Line

I agree it looks rather grotesque that half the country is starving and London gets a shiny new tube line, but for me its more a question of why is half the country starving? And we all know whose fault that is.

Marvellous! And how long does it take to get from Marton to the Boro on the bus during the morning commute? Maybe we are supposed to be pleased that we have buses!

I thought that Londoners were basically Laborites not forgetting the major probably has a bigger say in “where the big money goes?’

I certainly empathise with the comments. Hence my comment in the OP

Well at least the majority of Londoners dont vote for the chancers and corrupt Johnson cabal - (unlike red wall Northerners).
It made me laugh that smalltown liked your comment above and yet he voted for this government (Let's get Brexit Done). ;)

Personally, I think it looks great but while the rest of us have to use our cars just to get to a bus route, you are never going to find people in favour of it. Especially with the amount it cost and the cuts they are making to the rail network.

I wonder how it will operate during the RMT strike.

There are a lot of young professionals that vote Labour In London, because they are still renting/living at home in their 30s, but move away from certain trendy hot spots and is more mixed political views, certainly just outside the M25 - look at Southend working class area with Tory MP. Crossrail covers an area beyond the M25 such as Reading. It was designed to move commuters around quicker both within London and into and out of on a West to East axis.

Worked with and I'm friends with people from all over the world - When they say "I would love to come to the UK" What they mean is "I would love to come to London".

Just the other day a former Lebanese collegue contacted me and said "I'm going to be in London for a few hours on xxx - why don't we meet for a coffee?" I had to explain how far I was from London/Heathrow

'Trickle down' transport, whatever next?

I know my mates in Middlesbrough will be sure to reap the rewards from the benefit that Sebastian is able to get from his flat in Clerkenwell to his banking job in Canary Wharf, will bring.

I say that as someone who is more than happy with London transport improvements, but to suggest there's some sort of even tenuous link between it and their faux "levelling up" agenda is just another of Johnsons lies.
