New directive on physical contact and goal keepers

Johnny - I can only upload comments from the Millwall manager who must have received information from the relevant authorities. ithiought it might be of interest to some posters, especially after the second QPR goal last Saturday.

Chicke runner - third paragraph follows second paragraph where Rowett is talking about an incident with his keeper.

Read the the third paragraph for Gary Rowett's comments about less protection for keepers this season - was this applicable in our game too?

Didn't a keeper in one of the other games last week nearly punch a striker's head off, who didn't win the ball, and no pen was given? Seems like it's fair game everywhere now

Keepers did get too much protection though, they shouldn't have the god-given right to go where they want through a crowd of players, it should be equal. They can use their arms, so they still have the advantage.

A bad push should still be a foul though, but not general jostling for position, that should be down to strength, and who got the position first.

No he doesn't. He talks about an incident with his centreback.

The best view of the Steffen incident on Saturday is from behind the goal. From there it doesn't even look as though the player touched him, more taht he completely missed the ball.

every season more and more new directives, why not leave the game alone
See you could say this about much in life. Take the microwave. All people want is to whack in a meal set the timer for five minutes and ping. People don't want a microwave that can start defrosting a chicken at 3:20 in the morning set on a timer. Well some ***** might but they're the sort who have probably moved onto things like their heating going on when they fart into their watch. The sort that buy air fryers. But most people want things simple.

The thing is people get jobs designing microwaves. What are you going to do if you are a microwave designer? Just sit there put your feet up as there's been nothing microwaves have needed adding to them since 1972? No you are going to design some new ***** that no one needs to try and impress your boss.

Everything in life is the same. It's why your TV remote has loads of buttons, why washing machines have 30 different cycles and why they keep adding stupid new rules to football.

If everyone was a lazy **** like me, coasting along with minimum effort, the world would be a better place for everyone.

Way to go👍 Totally with you on the whole microwave sitch.

Agreed in this example its not the keeper, I was mistaken, he is talking about Cooper his centre half.

However looking at the general picture the directive could apply to any player? and it is something to watch out for and exploit. I hadn't seen it mentioned in the media or mentioned after Saturday's game.

I like a - return - to a good bit more contact.. game had become too soft, though not a return to hoofing players in the air....

offside - the original was good - I'd like it to go, almost back to that, though only the player receiving the ball or close by / obstructing keeprs view.. & shouldbe foot position offside not body... & by about a foot if it's 'close' attacking team advantage shouldn't take mins on VAR...
